Don't worry. 5D2 bashing started 142 pages ago. AF is useless, there is not full weatherproffing, it does not have the latest Canon gapless sensor technology, nobody needs 21 megapixels, nobody needs video... blah, blah, blah
It is a wonder that anybody did actually pre-order such an under-specced, poorly conceived, ill-manufactured stop-gap product.

+1
I only ordered this camera to complain about it when I got it.

Exactly, why wait until people actually receive it to start whining about it? It obviously sucks already.

No, what was ridiculous was selling your 5D when you knew the projected shipping date of the new model was "end of November." New Canon DSLRs have been heavily pre-ordered since the 10D--this is nothing new.
it's called 'assumption'. back then the projected delivery date was beginning of November, so i figured that'd give me enough time.

My goodness! You guys are like kids waiting for Xmas. What are you going to do if the camera doesn't live up to all the hype? If this camera isn't ABSOLUTELY perfect in every respect I can just see thread after endless thread of people complaining about noise, sharpness, AF, white balance, ad nauseum...
+1. Enough already. When it gets here, it gets here. Stop the whining!

I'm not attempting to stoke any flames, but I'm curious as to when the projected delivery date was stated to be early November? The only date I ever saw from Canon was end of November. I did hear lots of people offering statements of "fact" that they heard it "from a Canon rep who has never been wrong before" that the mark II was coming in early/mid/late October then early/mid November (now some are saying early December). But I don't recall ever seeing Canon actually state early November, but would love to be able to find something like that and jump on the "it's late" bandwagon! So if you can provide a link to Canon (or Chuck Westfall) info stating early November, that would be fantastic!
My only regret in this entire fiasco is that I will be cruising the Rhine River Christmas markets when your cameras come in, at least for those numbers 1 or two on the list. I am so going to miss out on the first auto focus problem, the first there is a speck of dust in there whine. Not really but I wonder how many pages of "Wow I love this camera" there will be.
Gentlemen, and any ladies foolish enough to be in this scrum, enjoy!!!!
No. I'm gonna get mine first since I've put money down with my local dealer and I will be the first to complain about the slow/misadjusted AF and ISO noise.
I'd like to be the first to complain that the 5DII will fail to make my wildlife photos look like they belong on the cover of National Geographic. I thought this camera was supposed to be really good!
Hey guys, just have a question about pricing. I'm not sure if it's allowed, so if not, mods please delete my post. Anyways, I have a friend that is a local dealer and his pricing is $2404 for the body only. Wondering if anyone can confirm this. He's going to sell it to me at cost, plus tax of course, which comes out to around $2500. He owes me one and he is leveraging his employee benefits, but if I can get it near the same price elsewhere, I'd like to save him the trouble too. The other caveat is that I would be on the second batch scheduled for delivery on in the second week of december. Any thoughts?

So what are the rules of engagement? Do you physically have to open the box or can your wife call you and tell you a package arrived from X. I'd what point are you allowed to post that you have received the bug ridden, epic failure of image capturing technology?
"assume" in decision making usually ends up becoming "ass of you and me". i'm not letting go of my 5D until I have the 5D II in hand, and tested it out for a good while - for this very exact reason.

you're not going to find it at that price, anywhere, while the camera is not fully in stock.
