Please don't compare a Ferrari to a 5D, you are disrespecting the Italians

Do we really need cars driving 150mph? Seriously? At some point speed will not matter anymore. I think I am dreaming about a Ferrari anyway.
Concerning me 16-18MP would be enough. For now and the next couple of years.
But if 24 MP or more are offered my "small" 5D2 would be available cheaper :-) than if not.
if true then what ive said all along the 5d is dead, replaced with a 7d..and the 3d as I predict will be a DSLR version of the eos3 with 21mp
next sept.the 1dsmk4s will be here dual digic4s 26mp
Canon introduces 7D and 3D, and the 5D will be updated with a new sensor.
7D with 18MP uses two DIGIC III because they are faster than one DIGIC IV, but less expensive than two DIGIC IV. But the DIGIC III's will use new software.
3D with 21 MP will use two DIGIC IV, for max performance, and be above $3000.
5D will remain at 12 MP for those who want really good high-ISO performance (per pixel), and don't need higher resolution. Will maybe even stay at one DIGIC III and be quite low in price. But new software, dust removal, micro adjust, etc.
Yes. That makes sense. :-) To the permanent hole in my pocket at least
But if they wpuld exchange names. No way 5D will remain at 12 and 7 D will have 18, while 3D 21MP. And of course, they all will have digic IV.

The problem with that... Nikon already has it with the D3
No problem I guess. The D3 here in germany remains still € 900 higher. And of course the 5DII IQ would be better I would imagine. They will not low the resolution down to D3 () and use an sensor beneath 50D standard. If its les resolution it will have 12.800 nativ at now 1600 ISO quality

A friend of mine sold all of his Canon gear and bought the D3 a month ago. I told him to wait a bit but he said that it was just what he needed, so why wait...
