edit:myabe this person was playing tricks? it doesn't match what i see on the actual canon site (where you can still see the mode dial and EOS, if ery, very faintly), so nevermind i guess.
Goodmorning world, on what is predicted to be the last day of EOS watch.
Rumor has it that this is the day we'll see a new 5D replacement (likely to also have a 5 in its name, if the Japanese site is proof enough).
Just recapping... no firm details have been discussed as yet, with ranging information from all around the world. 7D and 3D titles have pretty much been shot down as unlikely as well.
So let the waiting begin. Around 5 or so hours to go.
This 5D replacement must be the most anticipated Canon DSLR since the introduction of their first DSLR, the EOS D2000 a decade ago! This will never happen if Nikon had not woken up from their comatose state!
The US site shows the left side of the camera with the buttons, but the entire right side is missing. You need to wait for the Destined Evolution Banner to show up

Perhaps this is a 1DmarkIII successor. Wouldn't be surprised to see that fairly soon. Then they'll just happen to announce a 5D successor at the same time.
Maybe they will really surprise us by merging the 5D and 1D lines into the 1D5 mark II/IIII. To do this, they would need to make the 1D4 as cheap as the original 5D was on introduction, with the prospect of adding a cheap amateur full-frame camera in the near future. It would have a compact pro grip so that it was only a slice deeper than the D700. That would certainly attack the D700 and α900 where it hurts. Beat them on their own patch, while also dealing with the $1200 price bracket. It would also explain the prism and hide over the bottom of the camera in the moon shots. I know this is a highly fanciful conjecture - I'm just having a bit of EOSfun.
Canon is making incremental improvements to the new cameras after seeing the suggestions and improvement ideas here. The more you write the more time it will take for the cameras to be released
