I guess I won't be the only idiot staying up late here on the east coast to FIND OUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.
i wouldn't stay up late myself for it, however since i usually go to bed well, well after midnight, i might as well give it a look since I'll be up anyway.
What we know for sure is that the camera has a 1 series style prism cover, 1 series style "EOS" label, the bottom is obscured but the size indicates a 1 series integrated grip, and has top controls similiar to the 5D.
To me that suggest a higher-end camera.
Forget all the rumors. Maybe Canon has given us real information and we're too busy with guessing to notice.
Well color me wrong... since the 'evolution' teaser came out, every time i had seen it, you could easily discern the dial. It certainly looks 'shopped as all get out.. from canon or not.
Muy interesante, supongo que quisaz es me cupla que no he visto paginas de canon en español .
Viva la Evolución! .
Y,.. aquí, tenemos un link directamente a la pagina de canon, en español...

Lads, the image is not a fake. I surfed on over on my Nokia 'cell' phone: turns out its the image you get if your browser doesn't support flash. ITS NOT A FAKE! Awesome!
Prove me wrong: disable/uninstall flash and try the page...

Thanks. I did that around Christmas. It was a mess before. Fred has also invested in better serving.
World of difference in how the site runs these days. I'm a long time dev, so I really appreciate both Fred's efforts on getting better service and any of the programming work that has been done.

It is fake... its a PS job. Its provided by canon, but theres no way that is photographic. You can see the blending on the prism shading.
ohyeah it's obviously not the camera shape, but some had been wondering if they were covering something up underneath.
buti bet it is just an early version when they still had the dial and EOS covered and that it's a non-story
Personally, I think Canon is just having some EOSFun with us and at our expense. I've been waiting for an upgrade (AF and low noise) since January and figure I can wait a little longer. But if I'm dissappointed (in the AF and low noise) whenever it's announced, then daddy will take the keys away for the EOSFun and I'll be looking for some coolpix.
The 17th of September,
Thats the date,
Canon drop the bomb shell,
Nikon's gonna hate,
But what about Sony?
Thats simple: fate.
Big up Canon,
You're my mate!
