First of all, I'm selling this lens within USA only, absolutely will not consider shipping international no matter how much you offer to pay, I simply refuse to ship it oversea, period.
I bought this trash in end of March 2008, lens code UW0217 (Feb 2008), I dare say this is one of the softest 100-400L on earth, unfortunately it did not get to see much action, I'm a portrait shooter and use mostly 17-55 2.8 IS or the 70-200 F4 IS so I'm going to find a new owner for this piece of crap that I'm trying to get rid of. it is in like new condition, but EXTREMELY SOFT wide open f/5.6 @400mm, virtually no gain to stop it down, unbelievable softness with 1.4x TC can be obtain on it as well. Optical quality of this 100-400L even beat my 70-200 F4 IS within the same focal range ....IT IS THAT BAD!! Original box, user manual, unregistered blank warranty card, original sales receipt and whatever else came with it will be included

will the buyer get the certificate of the world sharpest Canon 100-400? i would hate to buy this and then find out that there is a sharper copy in Japan or someplace else....
I don't know I have a new 100-400 date code UW and I think it's just as sharp. I think Canon has been turing out some very nice 100-400 with this date code as a friend of mine just bought one and it is perhaps the sharpest 100-400 I have ever seen.
This is terrible, why is everyone giving him a hard time. For some people it might be worth it to ensure a good copy. I have the worlds sharpest 50mm 1.8 that I will trade for this lens.

It had a newly invented 4-6 stops Image Stabilizer installed it it and newly designed 9 Flourite elements + 9 UD elements, and not a Push & Pull Zoom. This is a must have lens!!!! I wouldn't sell this lens for anything less than $5,000 because it's the ..... World Sharpest 100-400L.
