Paul,

Great news on the upcoming flush-mounted test button! Will I be able to send my receivers back for a retrofit when the new version is available?

Photobear,

Thanks so much for passing this along. It seems ridiculously expensive for a cord, but I guess I've grown accustom to paying up for camera equipment. Why stop now?

It works with 40D and 590EXII, but does not support TTL.

The only radio that does eTTL/CLS/pTTL/e.t.c. is the radio popper (I recall they have 2 versions - one with more channels).. These just act as a radio sender for the manufacturers pulses, so you need all prop flashes.

All the others are manual on the flash & adjustments (although skyports & cybersyncs will allow adjustments on their own brand strobes).

You MIGHT not need this one....I use a canon 550ex, after I spoke with the guy at FlashZebra I found out I only needed the hotshoe mount. If you by the Battery Reciever (not the A/C powered reciever) Paul sends along a PC-3.5mm Jack cord, so all you need to do is buy this: http://www.flashzebra.com/hotshoes-shoes/0065.shtml

Mine works like a charm

Carl,

Thanks so much for the post. I have the battery receiver and a 430 EX and I'm guessing this might work. I'm gonna cancel my order at paramount cords and give this a try first. Rather spend $11 than $50!

Getting ready for a shoot tomorrow - first test of my battery operated CyberSyncs. Just found out the included PC-3.5mm jack cord is male PC. Won't accept the male PC cord from the strobe.
So hopefully a local store will have a hot shoe adapter or female-to-female PC sync cord.

Have a question, though - the CyberSync receiver ready light blinks green, but the light on the transmitter blinks red - is that normal?

I am thinking of using the transmitter while the 580ex in hotshoe. ( to give AF beam )
Can I PC cord the transmitter ?
I cant see any indication of a PC outlet in the transmitter nor could read any specs that mention PC outlet on the transmitter.

anyone ever use it this way?

Hey Paul

why isnt this info on your website?
It seems finding info like this is ...........amazingly difficult
Could we have a few more shots of the products from different angles
So we can see if there is a PC connector , for example.

That pics with the penny was a good shot, you should have it on the web

This product hasn't even been advertised yet. We've been concentrating on getting the product line refined and built. All you have seen so far is the result of forum buzz and pre announcements. Basic info was put on the web in response to cries for it from blogs and forums. It's not a perfect world and we don't have a huge marketing staff - it's mostly me. Excuses - yes. Reality - I can only do so much in my 110 hour work week. I feel your pain - please feel mine.

Paul

Would it be a great idea to consolidate all this info
in a place ( so you dont have to re-create them )

Perhaps on your forum ?

It was consolidated at the top of our forum and has since fragmented into several new threads also. We have a New Developments list you can ask to be added to. Information will be coming soon to list requests and to our web pages. We have a new and very bright webmaster starting Monday.

We don't plan on venturing into TTL anytime soon. TTL and studio flash systems don't mix well and there are too many engineering issues involved at this point. But Einstein and Cyber Commander technology do lend themselves to possible TTL is the future - but not the immediate future.

I would think that has more to do with the recycle time of your flash unit than anything else.
