It's been awhile since I've last posted here, but I have been shooting film and acquiring new (to me) film cameras and lenses. I've been too lazy to share, but now is better than never.
Here are a few from a local Chili Cook-Off & Classic Car Show in Elk Grove Park from October 28th last year.
Shot on my Pentax 67II & 105mm f/2.4 Super Takumar.
A couple from my second roll (this time HP5) on the Mamiya C330. I've been shooting mostly wide open to see what I can get away with in terms of focus, but my next roll will be more stopped down.

I feel you! I’ve been using a Samyang 35mm f/1.4 on my FM3A and intentionally shot wide open on a whole roll of color negative film (Kodak UltraMax or Fuji C200), and I missed focus 99% of the time. With only a split prism surrounded by a micro prism ring, it’s very hard to judge what’s in focus wide open at f/1.4. Just breathing can move the focal plane. 🙃
Ever since, I’m less inclined to shoot wide open and embrace stopping down.

Great shots. I'm the same. Lately I've been trying to only shoot wide open when necessary (low lighting). I'm constantly shocked at how thin the DOF is even at 2.8 in medium format.

No kidding! Welcome back!
Things have changed, we've now got an official film forum, Fred's kids have told him they much prefer his film photos, and Detroit may make it to the SuperBowl!

Haha! You always crack me up Huss!!! 😂
Wow…with all that’s happened, why does it feel like the proverbial peanut butter has hit the fan. It’s all downhill from here and I have my trunks on and ready to go down the tubes with all of y’all. Fred’s film photos and all. 🤣
I am starting what I would consider is my first real photography project since I was in college. I am beginning a series on roadside drive-up stands. I went to a ton of these as a kid and they are disappearing. Film, seems to be the perfect medium for the project. I shot this first shot on my Fujinon 690GSW II and Portra 400 and metered with my Pentax digital spot meter. I scanned the frame on my "new to me" Epson V800 scanner using the anti-newton ring 120 film holder. I am pleased with what was my first roll thru the camera and my first real scan with the Epson.
