In a previous life I spent a year on a live fire target and bombing range in Alaska out of Eilson AFB near Fairbanks. I always marveled when they came in on the target. The controller said it often took the kids 6 months before they could hit the target. The support poles didn’t last long. On a side note, don’t pick up the spent bullets. I guarantee you will have trouble clearing security at the airport for months. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.
That was shot with the 600/4. You can get nice separation from the subject with the RF100-500, but the RF600/4 is, as it should be, in a whole different category.

Those big 600 F4 primes do make nice bokeh. To be fair, even the xxx-600mm f6.3 zooms or the Canon 100-500 could make nice bokeh if the background is distant enough from the subject. And now Lightroom has this new feature that can "blur" the background. But all things equal, the 600 F4 primes are hard to beat.
A few more recent shots. Airshow season can't come soon enough!
