Zane, I got forced into the video thing early on in the drone game when a client commented that my drone shot videos too. It has been a learning experience as I tried the freebies, then video in Photoshop (Never try that!), then Adobe Premiere which was good but expensive. Now I've committed to a workflow based on Mac so I am using the Davinci Resolve free version which is way above Premiere on its best day. Get out and explore the video capabilities of a flying machine. You will be amazed and Hooked like Jim and I are.

Yep! I tried Pemiere Elements then I downloaded the free 90 day Final Cut Pro trial twice. I watched a lot of tutorials on FPC and just didn't feel comfortable. Jim referred me to Rubidium's courses for video. He uses Resolve. I looked into Resolve and after watching the first two videos on getting started, I felt more comfortable using Resolve. Great videos.

BTW, love the train videos, they are truly enjoyable.

I tried FCP too but my attempt was pretty feeble. Never did try Elements. Premiere did what I needed most of the time except when it took a dive. Getting in to Davinci is refreshing especially the color module. I’m glad you are enjoying the train videos. This one fI put together from last spring is my favorite. We are planning a sequel with the double pumper in the near future.

Dan, here is something from your neck of woods yesterday afternoon. I had a few hours to make a quick trip to Gettysburg and Contokin Mt.

Super images Douglas! I have photographed the Codori Barn many times in all seasons. The rest of your images like wise. The covered bridges equally. This time of year is the best.
Well done!

Guys, my apologies for dumping a cry for help and then bailing out for several days. I got sick shortly after I posted the photos and haven't felt human until today. Everything is good, I guess I ingested something my digestive track refused to process.

Dan, Bill and Jim, thanks for the input. You guys are correct. I decided to retrace my steps from the RAW photo through the process. The artifacts showed up in Topaz DeNoise, but I had to enlarge it to 400%, which I rarely do on my laptop. The "Clear" denoise mode created the orange peel.

Cant tell now Ray! Looks fine. Been there, done that many times.....nothing is "seamless" in post processing. And we usually have to find out the hard way by posting and getting comments. That's fine with me. I'm old! So can I use that as an excuse?

I love this time of year...cool nights and the sunset or sunrise is enhanced by no humidity or morning dew,! Everything glows and it doesn't have to be the jet. It, the jet, does though.

Something for the brain trust:

I have a late model MacBook Pro with a 4TB SSD, the fastest processors and a boatload of RAM. I keep all my files on an external drive and work them from there, then I back them up to my RAID Arrays. Theoretically, all that should be using my 4TB SSD is my applications. I have noticed the remaining memory on the SSD dropping pretty rapidly. When I looked into what was using up my storage capacity it clearly showed me that it was libraries from Final Cut, even thought I work Final Cut off of my external SSD and all the rendered files go into a library on the drive. One of the heaviest folders drawing my in computer SSD down is a folder called "Pictures", it's filled with full resolution TIFF files from way back to the present, files that I have long since taken off the desktop and sent to my RAID set up.

I've discovered that somehow, for some reason, the computer puts these files into dated folders, year, then month/day, and stores them there. You can guess how big that Pictures folder has gotten, given the amount of assignment processing that I do. My first thought was, if I delete those photos, will it delete the images in my "Photos" app? The answer is no, these are all camera captured full res TIFF files, nothing from my phone or images that I have saved to my photos file. Very odd, but I've deleted them and I'm back up to 3TB free of the 4 available.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Obviously the announcement on the 24th was all about lenses, not a peep regarding bodies. Looks like Canon is going to drag this out.

I was very surprised when they announce and began delivery of the R6 II. That was a relatively quick update for a modern Canon camera. I guess I am surprised there haven't been any more, especially with the R5 price reductions. There could be production problems (supply, process or resource) for the advanced professional cameras. They were very clear they were not stopping at the R3.
