Sorry Douglas, that's beyond disappointing. Who knows, maybe that saved you from something bad down the road, you never know. Anyway, hope the next opportunity rewards you greatly!

Careful Ray, seems they are now hunting Balloons!
Could be a short and exciting experience!
Remember the Balloon Boy hoax??. Nobody seems to know what the heck were the last three "objects" they shot down, or they know but don't want us to know. I hope we are not ticking off some aliens (not the kind crossing the southern border).

Thanks Mark. I did link the Apple Pay with a credit card, I had never used it to pay for anything and didn't realize I could have used it until I got home. I did try it at a local gas station today and it worked! I should hide $100 cash somewhere in my car too.
It's a good reminder for all of us. One day this past summer it was about 95F and I had ridden my bike around 10 miles from home when I stopped for a drink. Except that's when I realized I had left both water bottles at home. Had to ride all the way back without a drink because I had no money.
But now that I think about it, I had my phone and I could have use Apple Pay somewhere to buy a drink. I just hardly ever use it, and I totally forgot about it as well.
I've also been meaning to stuff some cash in my saddle bag.

I have a new project, in fact multiple projects all over the McKinney airport, but this particular one is for a contractor and not the airport management. I'm in the process of getting blanket drone approval for a year on and around the airport. Contractors and clients in general are getting numb to quality, dumbed down by iPhones and drone shots. My new contractor was expecting typical drone footage of his project, but I shot it from a helicopter instead and he was blown away by the quality. Drones are great when you need them but 150mp files shot from a helicopter is a horse of a different color.
They are extending the runway at KTKI, part of a $140M improvement package that will bring scheduled airline service to the airport, another reason hangar values and rents are skyrocketing.
Shot a groundbreaking in Dallas yesterday morning, then zipped over to Tennessee and got there just in time to capture this.....long day, but worth it!

I finally had to break out my 300mm f2.8 for a soccer game last night. It has been several years since I shot soccer on this pitch and hoped I wouldn't shoot it again because it is so dark. Imagine a 1950's football field with 1950s lighting. I was hoping the dads would surround the field with their F250 pickup trucks and turn on their high beams, alas, there wasn't enough of them. Anyway, I could say it was a dark field, so I will just add I had to use the flashlight on my phone to check the lens stabilization switches...
Jay, those are beautiful shots of a beautiful aircraft. A pilot I know well will have Sim school soon coming up for the Flex Jet. He's flown it on a demo ride and says that it is just the best A/C he's ever flown; and that would include a Falcon 10, a Citation or two (can't remember the models), an MD-9 for Midwest Airlines, a Lear 65, three series 600 Challengers/Global Express, and a Gulfstream IV. "Nothing like it, Dad!!!!!" I'm figuring out how to be a stowaway
