Rob, you are having a lot of fun with the Z9. Nice sharp images.
Well, I’m starting to think the darn thing is so good that I’m relegated to the task of transporting the camera to the location so that it can take the pictures 😀.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day for February here in Texas, went over to Love Field and met up with some friends. Here are a couple of shots for your enjoyment.
After much handwringing I went ahead and got my RF 600/4. I decided that it was a lens that would haunt me forever if I didn't get it, so I circumvented that scenario. When Canon comes out with whatever super zoom they design I'll deal with it. I figure that the 600 is never going to be less expensive than it is right now and I have some pretty unique opportunities coming up where that lens will separate the men from the boys.
Rob, the jet in the second shot looks HUGE! For those who may not know, that's a plane of Taiwan (Republic of China), not the other China.
Ray, beautiful shots of the F-22. They sure have been busy shooting down targets they weren't designed for. . If they keep sending balloons over we will be out of sidewinders pretty soon. I got a bit "intel" of the practice schedule of the F-22 at Langley, the lighting will be a lot better than the usual airshow hour but it's a 4-hour drive. Will see.
I'll tell you what, shooting aerials is a pain because one is alway dancing with the weather and the light, but I love doing them and I was born to do it.............

The only real question is "Do you set the focus mode to eye detection or vehicle?".
ps: Do you know what IR stands for? "eye are coming for you!"
Yesterday I made a comment on a Facebook feed that had an F-22 with a painted balloon and two UFOs, I said "If they keep sending balloons over, soon we will run out of Sidewinders to shoot them". I received a warning from FB saying my comment violated "community standard", I appeared using their "misunderstanding my comment" option, my appeal was denied.. I think FB is run by CCP agents.
Anyway, this morning I left my house at 4:30 to go to Middle Creek in Pa to photograph the snow geese at sunrise, after 80 miles, I stopped by a MacDonald's to get breakfast, then I realized I forgot to bring the wallet with me, I didn't have enough gas to drive another 30 miles to the destination and go home from there. I didn't want to beg people to give me gas money to go home so I turned around and drove home. After I got home I realized I could have used Apple Pay to buy gas but I have never used it before even though it's in my phone. I am way behind the tech curve.
On my way home I listened to this podcast on Youtube, very very sobering and chilling. I think we are 20 freaking years too late to contain the CCP. It's a long program but what this gentleman said is so true and accurate. Sadly 95% of the Americans and politicians are still sleeping.

Oh man, what a waste of a morning. Sorry Douglas. FYI, you need to set up Apple Pay in advance by linking a credit card or debit card to it, so do that now in case this happens again.

Thanks Mark. I did link the Apple Pay with a credit card, I had never used it to pay for anything and didn't realize I could have used it until I got home. I did try it at a local gas station today and it worked! I should hide $100 cash somewhere in my car too.
