Thank you Jim! Technically that body of water is called "Patapsco River", just south of Baltimore, I think it's part of the bay.

Thank you Bill! It's one of my favorite places to shoot sunrise. About 25 miles from my house. Hard to find good spots for sunrise and sunset near here, too many new developments.

Thank you Dan! This was the Fort Armistead right off the Frances Scott Key Bridge on 695. Very good view but trash everywhere (left by people using the fishing pier), it really is a shame that some people expect others to pick up their trash. I looked the trash left at the Time Square after the new year countdown, compared to how the Japanese soccer fans cleaned up their area at the stadium during the Soccer World Cup...
For a good laugh, this is what the red shouldered hawk thought of the photographer yesterday....Show more →
Yeah I should have seen that Douglas! The outer harbor bridge with Beth Steel on the right.
Beautiful!

I hear ya on the big filters/adapters. I love shooting with a polarizer tho so that wouldn't work on some.
The 16-35 is a 2.8L version. Now I'm looking at the 14mm 2.8L II
I used to be a filter fanatic, all Hasselblad and or B+W products, both cost more than some lenses. I can honestly say that I haven't put a polarizer on a lens in ten years. Special applications like removing reflections in windows being the exception, my digital filter packs do everything polarizers used to. Now I do have a bunch invested in PolarPro "McKinnon" Variable ND filters, and they are indispensable in video work.

I read Jim's remarks and I instanly said..."head on a swivel" and park real close!!!
I have a Canon 14mm f2.8 and boy is it sharp!!!!
Good Luck!

That 14mm/2.8 is an outstanding lens. A supplier tried to convince me that the Sigma version was equal to the Canon for. fraction of the price. I told him that there was no way, but if he'd give them both to me for a couple of days I would run some tests. Sigma has improved a great deal over the years, but all I needed was a couple of hours of testing to prove that there was a substantial difference in quality, and that the Canon was worth every penny.
Wish you all could have been with us today. Chandler and I spent the day with Jeremy Boyd shooting the "Spads", then we wrapped it up with dinner and a few hours of going over our images and sharing post processing tips and tricks at HQ. I cringed a bit when I left the house in the dark this morning, but it was one of the nicest days in recent memory and we got some epic imagery.

Wish I was there-
Glad you guys had a good time-
We began the day right after sunrise and hung out at HQ until about 11 so it was a pretty long day, but we have such a great time together that it never seems long enough.

Boydo, Chandler and I headed out to the runway and Jeremy had already coordinated where we'd be and what we were trying to get with the pilots. The fighter guys were tuned in and flew just for us, mysteriously several of them had to go around when they came back in.............
This Stealth fighter made several passes....................
