Happy New Year to our MA2A family! It has been a good year over all, much to be thankful for including our health and many good opportunities. Enjoyed meeting a fellow MA2A at Andrew's Airforce base airshow, reconnecting with a few on here. And at home we have had some nice travel with family and friends; good food and gatherings, etc. So ya it really has been a good year.
But I for one will be happy to move on from this year; the last 4 months have tested my patience with my adoration partner losing her college age daughter to a unexplained accident, a co-workers brother died in a automobile accident a few weeks back, my wife's Brother pasted with cancer just before Thanksgiving (and we all will miss Tom, he was such a special individual in so many ways).......................... and as that was all going on work ramped up with some big demands before the year end that included international travel. I did maintain my focus on taking care of the family, Annalise and Clara are doing well but it was a marathon that I am glad is in the past.
I for one am looking forward to a new year and hopefully a much happier, more relaxed one as well. Wishing all of you a Blessed 2023 as well.
Take care,
Dan

Just packed up the last tub of Christmas decorations and I am ready to hit the New Year head on. Meetings scheduled with my 777 folks and my new fracking clients along with the first residential model shoot on Tuesday, "Bring It!"
We all know I’m sure about Canon’s 16-35mm 2.8L but I didn’t realize they also made a 17-35mm 2.8L
What’s that all about ?
Kinda like the 24-70mm and 28-70mm...

Great image Dan!
The last 18 months have been a nightmare for my wife medically! And me as a "caregiver".
The medical quality where I live is 3rd world at best! Not all but most!
The medical conglomerates here just don't care!
Enough "sour grapes"!
Happy New Year!

Bill,
I had a 17-35 f2.8 many many years ago. It was just ok to me. Sold it for a 16-35 2.8 and a world of difference. Now this was about 20 years ago! So if Canon is still making this lens, I can't help!
Happy New Year!
RD
I have been looking at the 11-24 but haven't robbed a bank yet so looking at other options and the 16-35 was one but I don't think wide enough for me. Then I saw the 17-35 on the buy and sell board this morning. Missed a nice R6 for 1650 as well yesterday dangit...

Is that The Chesapeake Bay Douglas?
Thank you Jim! Technically that body of water is called "Patapsco River", just south of Baltimore, I think it's part of the bay.

Love that second picture Douglas...My Fav.
Thank you Bill! It's one of my favorite places to shoot sunrise. About 25 miles from my house. Hard to find good spots for sunrise and sunset near here, too many new developments.

Thank you Dan! This was the Fort Armistead right off the Frances Scott Key Bridge on 695. Very good view but trash everywhere (left by people using the fishing pier), it really is a shame that some people expect others to pick up their trash. I looked the trash left at the Time Square after the new year countdown, compared to how the Japanese soccer fans cleaned up their area at the stadium during the Soccer World Cup...
For a good laugh, this is what the red shouldered hawk thought of the photographer yesterday.

Happy New years-
Bill, if you are looking for a zoom wider than 16mm, I think all of them can't accept screw-in filters, maybe except the new Canon RF15-30 f2.8. I had a Voigtlander 10mm, 12mm, Sony 12-24mm f4, Sigma 14-24 f2.8, all for Sony E mount. Not being able to use screw-in filters can be a PITA. I bought a set of filters with adapter for the Sigma 14-24, I didn't even bother to open the package, it's HUGE! Now I have a Voigtlander 15mm, a Sony PZ 16-35 f4, and a Voigtlander 21mm f1.4. From what I read, the Canon 16-35 f4 L IS is a very sharp lens, but it's f4 and 16mm...

I hear ya on the big filters/adapters. I love shooting with a polarizer tho so that wouldn't work on some.
The 16-35 is a 2.8L version. Now I'm looking at the 14mm 2.8L II
