Went to see the Korean war movie "Devotion" this afternoon, love the story (true story) but I can't honestly say I loved the movie, kind of boring for a good part. I read that six F4U Corsairs were used in the making of the film. I still don't understand why no movies have been made about the Chosin Reservoir Battle.
Made a quick trip to Washington DC last night to shoot some Christmas lights with the new to me Meyer Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 100mm f2.8 lens. This brand is known for the soap bubble bokeh which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Anyway, wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year!

Thanks Dan,
If you put these co-ordinates into a map app, it will show you my shooting position.

I posted a reply yesterday but it was deleted somehow.
Had breakfast with the "Old Guard" Saturday morning(0600)..a ritual with the 2 people left of my Vietnam unit.
After b'fast went walking around to where you might be. No see but boy was it crowded...always is on Wreath"Day.
Wonderful images Douglas!

Jim,
Boss here just got that drone you are getting, very neat and light.
I think the prop guards are great plus it can upright it self if it lands/crashes upside down.
He got the fitted case as well.
Hope you and Thea are doing wonderfully. Bit of a sad note, our Charlie had to be put to sleep a couple of weeks ago. He was 17 and, much as we all disliked the thought, it was cruel to let him go on in the condition he was in. Difficult thing deciding when to end a life, even a pet's, doesn't feel like something one should do, even if it's the best thing.
Sorry about the Pup! They sure do become a part of your life. We have a 15 year Schnauzer, my mom's old puppy and we are having similar conversations. She is still feeding and taking her "trash" outside but those back old legs are getting pretty tired and wobbly. We'll miss her, but when she can't take care of herself we will not put her through the indignities. She has served our family well and the sweat old girl will be treated with the same respect.
Thanks Guys. On a happier note, JIII and I decided to celebrate The Season with a trip to In'n'Out for lunch! And yes, that's snow you see out the windows in the background, "Global Warming" Ya know................

Hi J-A, and thank you.
I hope your recovery is progressing or that you are beck to 100%.
In any event all the best to you and your mom.
Hi Nick it's reasonable considering were I came from.
Not 100% but I resumed work July 1st, I don't drive trucks any more full time but only
occasionally.
I'm now in charge of the terrain depot and warehouse, still a busy job but more manageable.
The charge in my daily battery is not as good as it was but I'm fortunate that the boss wanted to keep me onboard.

Got an outdoor shoot at The Salvation Army tomorrow from 12-4 , anyone want to assist?................................
Jim,
Send the jet! I'll shoot with ya!!!! Don't know what your weather is but we have -10F with winds NW@30, Gust to 50........... I'd enjoy a break with some balmy weather. Blizzard warning set to expire tomorrow am; think we are through the worst of it now. They keep talking about blowing snow but after the last 24 hrs I think all the snow that was going to blow has blown . Now it's just a white concrete I'll have to chip off the drive.
Jim, very sorry you lost your pup. That's a long life! I lost my first dog (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) 6 years ago, I still think of him everyday.
Stay warm everybody. While it's not nearly as cold as in some parts of the U.S., it is going to dip below 10 (Fahrenheit) here tonight, with 25 MPH wind. I was going to photograph hooded mergansers tomorrow morning after the storm passes, but my head tells me not to go out to shoot some freaking birds at this temperature with that kind of wind
