Thank you Dan, that means a great deal to me. Autism is such an interesting malady. Downs Syndrome is immediately recognizable and has its own unique symptoms. Autism has so many levels, guess that's why they cal it "The Spectrum", one can be "Autistic" yet be a genius , it is fascinating. We still don't know nearly enough about it, and there are all kinds of "theories" as to its origins, some plausible, some ridiculous. My darling little subject is bright, has a wonderful personality, beautiful smile, she just has to deal with sensory stimuli and social pressure. This shoot taught me a lot, portrait photography of any variety requires developing a sixth sense for the subject/subjects, and the ability to relate quickly and easily with people is vital. I'll never look at a portrait shoot the same way again, this one taught me to be even more sensitive with regard to my subject. See "Old dogs and new tricks" it can be done.................

Well, the verdict is in: Takes about three hours to change 90 LED mini bulbs. Most of the originals were in there so tightly that I needed pliers to pull them out. At least I didn't bleed.

Our daughter Cat has an M.S. in psychology, she's a special needs teacher and therapist at a facility that serves children and adults with autism. Some live there, others are day students that just attend school there. I don't know how she does it. Some of her students are there because it's not safe for them to be home. Not safe for them or their parents.

She was telling me that one of her students can't communicate, but they could tell something was bothering him because of the way he was acting. She correctly figured out that he had impacted wisdom teeth. They had to take him to a hospital in Boston for treatment. It takes four of them to safely bring him there and manage the environment around him to keep him calm. She told me that one day at the hospital a total stranger came up to her and her coworkers and simply said "You are all going to heaven", and walked away.

I can't imagine the burden on some of these families, especially when a child has a severe level.

I hear ya Mark,
I changed out about 6 bulbs from the very end to the middle where they were out and only 2 worked and one was half way lit up but they all worked on the end of strand. Guess it's back to buying new lights every year...I'm only half way done, hopefully the rest turn out good.
.
And yes, there is definitely a place in heaven for those.

God Bless your daughter Mark, that's a calling not a job. Yes, I think about the never ending commitment parents of special needs children have. Few of them consider it a burden if you talk with them, they count it all as joy, special people for sure.

Dan, get to Costco and buy 10 packs of those little lights, hang five, keep the rest to cover ya for the next 5 years, .
.
My sisters daughter has down syndrome, biggest and brightest star ever and she's 37.

Bill,
I have had it with holiday lights!
Suzanne and I spent the majority of Saturday boxing the large bulbs to give away.

Yes down syndrome children/adults can be so wonderful! ARE so wonderful! I hope and pray they live long and prosper as "Mr. Spock" sez!

Oh..we did revert to the mini-lights I had up in the garage attic. Just enough to finish the job!
Thake care brother!

Dan and Bill,

You misunderstood - all my files are local. SyncBackPro installs on your PC or Mac, and it only moves files that have changed from your working drive to the backup drive. No Cloud storage involved.

Here is how I use it. I have a 1TB hard drive in my laptop, and two backup hard drives that are now up to around 12TB each. I keep one backup drive offsite (at work). At home I have the working disk on the laptop and the other 12TB backup drive. I always make sure I have at least two copies of everything.

Sorry I misunderstood Mark! This sounds exactly what I need! I do not do videos either.
Let me check this out immediately!
Thanks again for correcting me! At 75, I hear but don't listen!

From last night! Grew up here and the airstrip was a flat grass strip.2 people AOK but power out everywhere there. They "powers to be" still don't know how this happened. Took about 8 hours to get them out and safe.

INDEED!
Both elderly!
Electric induction alone should have blew them to bits or made BBQ of them!

Ya, if they lived thru that they'd be counting their blessings, that's for sure.
Metal and electricity of that high a voltage don't mesh well, surprised they didn't go up in a big flash.

Video technology and stabilization has moved light years ahead since I captured this clip, handheld, as an afterthought, at the end of our still shoot.

Thanks Dan! This is one of those many times where you look back and wish that you had the equipment we have today. We had been up for an hour shooting stills and I had gotten everything I could have dreamed of and more, so I decided to wing it and do a little handheld video. That was probably with the 5DSR so HD with zero stabilization. We were at 11'000' on top of that deck so it was fairly smooth, but when we let down through it it was pretty bumpy. No complaints, but when you spend an hour, or even 30 minutes twisted up in the B25 tail, especially at the temps at 11,000', you are not real agile. The P51 was just an afterthought, we saw Stuart in the hallway of the FBO and we were headed into our brief so we asked him if he wanted to come play with us. It was pretty dismal underneath so we climbed up on top, always an incredible sight, but from the open tail it was even more mesmerizing.

At 55 secs into that video with the white clouds...That's view is unbeatable and beautiful.

Some things never change. I’ve been sitting out in front of my project for an hour, it was supposed to be unlocked and ready for me at 8 am. Temp is 34 with wind chill at 24, I could have hugged my pillow for another hour. Oh well, just thankful for the assignment.
