Just saw a video on You Tube showing the Dallas crash. I saw it was posted an hour ago (when I saw it) and came here to see if it was old footage, or a new incident. What a waste of both human life and irreplaceable aircraft.
The You Tube video shows more than the previously posted video, you can see it here...

I couldn’t go either.
“B-17, Kingcobra Collide At CAF Dallas Airshow
As many as six people are feared dead after the midair collision of a B-17 and a P-63 Kingcobra at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow put on by the Commemorative Air Force on Saturday.”
With Jim posting that photo of the Navy SBD, it seems appropriate to bid farewell to this Wildcat pilot here on Veteran's Day Weekend. Samuel was born and raised not far from where were live. He went into combat with 25 hrs in his Wildcat.
For those of you who have not attended Wings Over Dallas, this is a clear example of the way that the flyover is supposed to go. What happened yesterday is really inexplicable when you view this and how simple it is supposed to be...........
Jim,
I can't bring myself to viewing what I saw happen on tv. It is just too unnerving for me!
Crap happens! I understand that.....a shame for all!
Thanks for all your videos and such!
Were you there?

Be advised that I do NOT offer this link as ex post facto, after-the-fact arm-chairing criticism of the aviators who died. I offer only the commentary I was taught in PI and ITR while serving in USMC, and, as well, in many force on force scenario debriefings in which I was blessed to participate, the admonishment is absolutely, entirely true that "those of us who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" (George Santayana).
May God Rest their souls and soothe the hearts of those left behind. They WILL meet again.
