Great portraits of the athletes, Ray!
Some shots of the flyover in DC at sunset last nigh. They were pretty high in the sky so it was hard to get a good angle on the ground. I had never photographed these planes at sunset, except the P-51. Anyway, I look forward to the show at Andrews tomorrow.
Just fantastic Douglas!
Good luck tomorrow!

Local Flying Club organized an annual Airport day. Nice to see these old war planes in war re-enactment even though it was rainy and overcast
Those are some sweet photos of a great vintage aircraft.
Coaches teach defenders to keep between the quarterback and receiver...and not to let the receiver get past you...so you play them close...and get the interception:

Bad news from Reno, L29 crash that looks eerily like my Buddy Glenn's accident. The video shows him in a tight race, then something happens and he makes an abrupt pull then a 45 degree trajectory at full speed into the ground. Looks like he knocked himself out, no attempt to correct, just like Glenn.
I frequently visit the local just to see what I haven't seen. This one caught my eye for the vintage look.
1946 Ercoupe model 415-C serial #117. Did not see the owner show so no taxi-flight images this time.

Sorry to hear about another airshow accident. I was at Oceana on Sunday, heard during the Saturday show to two of the parachute jumpers (Navy Seal) tangled up and had to cut their chutes and deployed their reserved chutes in the last seconds.
Anyway, I had the honor and pleasure with fellow M2M member Dan from Iowa at the Andrews show on Saturday. He is the first M2M member I met in person. I joked that I haven't met the other M2M member Dan from Maryland but met the Dan from Iowa.
The shooting conditions were tough, for a good while it was backlit and the haze/smoke from west coast wildfires made it even more difficult. Anyway here are some of the shots from Saturday.
I was wearing my airshow "uniform" from BassPro
Uncle Joe flying to UK for the queen's funeral.

Not Fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't even gotten home to download a photo and Douglas is posting all the good stuff!!! Makes a guy want to leave the cameras at home and just watch the show, the best will be posted on MA2A
Seriously, Pleasure to me you Douglas and fantastic work! I will be pleased if my results are even half as good as yours.
My posts will lag, promised my cousin candid's of his team in action; airmen from the 316th support group at Andrews who put on the show. Some of the best, most professional service men and women you will meet! We are going to put together shots of their work taken candidly from afar to use in a thank you presentation that Bill is doing later this week. Then I will dig through my photo's for some of the good stuff from the airshow. But to be honest, this was so much more than an airshow; the hangers were filled with STEM activities, presentations to 6,000 middle and HS students from the area on Friday and some of the best art / paintings I have seen in years. Seems the Air Force has it's own Art History group that paints events and every day normal events; then adds a paragraph or two to the piece to make it a piece of history. Many, Many of these paintings also grace the walls of the Pentagon. And all are donated by the artists! I talked to several; such wonderful people with a great vision.
And then in the Heritage hanger they had Ike's original presidential aircraft to take him to and from is PA farm; and "That's All Brother".......................... The C47 that was lead ship during D-Day, and all other major air drops during WWII. To sit in those polished metal seats and listen to the tour guide tell you about the history and men who went there before you; just sends chills up your spine. We owe them so much more than we can ever pay. And the tools they went to war with; while perhaps state of the art in 1944 are so crude and free of any creature comforts by todays standards. Just amazing.
It was a great long weekend! Now back to life; catching up with work and helping my lovely wife Clara through her visit with Ms. Rona Virus................... Seems her luck ran out; that is the bad news. The good news so far is she is doing well; some aches and pains, light fever in the evening but over all not feeling any worse than a bad cold. Hopefully she is about through the worst of it. Now I just need to avoid the bug.
cs3is,
That first pix with the pilot waving at you, that's a really great shot, and so is the second one with the pilot looking straight on, they turned out really great.
