For the GoPro fans here, the Hero 11 Black is shipping. Looks like the upgrades are small but significant, bigger sensor, additionally improved stabilization and horizon lock. Looks like a winner. GoPro shipped me one for evaluation yesterday, should be here on the 17th. I'm going to wring it out at Arkanstol.
Most of you know I am shooting sports photos for the local daily rag. In addition to the games, they have me shoot feature photos of football players to support a reporter's story. This kid is from Kenya and converted from soccer to football. Fun kid to talk to. I had become bored with the usual folded arms, crossed arms...etc, standard shots the editor prefers.
I began taking 1 or 2 minutes to talk to the players before the shots so I can capture their personality. I am getting better and I think I really nailed this kid. This is who he is. The other two kids this week were good too. I am surprised the editor is really coming around to using the more animated photos.

These players are giants compared to what I played against in high school! Yeah there were some big guyz but today!!!??
My neighbor, Rob Havenstein's(LA RAMS) family, 6'8 345 and he was just about that weight in highschool! A monster of a man!!

Some shots of the flyover in DC at sunset last nigh. They were pretty high in the sky so it was hard to get a good angle on the ground. I had never photographed these planes at sunset, except the P-51. Anyway, I look forward to the show at Andrews tomorrow.
Wow, I’ve been gone for too long. It’s great to see familiar faces and new people here! I have spent the last several days catching up on the last 60 pages or so. The photography and friendship never disappoints.
Life has been quite busy and also blessed beyond what i deserve. My wife and I took over a business a little over 6 years ago, have welcomed 2 grandsons into our family and are down to 1 daughter at home.
I took the long way home from work this evening and found some wing things. 35mm is a different look for aviation and it’s been quite a bit of time since trying. The long way home involves about 15 miles, quite a few curves and beautiful farmland to travel the 5 blocks from the office to the house.
I recently found out there will be a Thunderbird flyover at a stadium in DC on Sept 15 around sunset time. I have never photographed the TB at sunset so I will make the trip. I don't have a ticket to this USAF concert, I will try to find a spot maybe a mile outside to see how it goes.
