I may have Bill! I posted a photo of a hometown friend who lived the dream of most young boys, that of being a fighter jet pilot.
Ron flew F4's out of Thailand into North Vietnam after my 2 year tour, 1967-1969.
But some of my close air support came from his unit in my time period also.
I must post a shot I took inside of Laos( I never said that) of a F4 bombing run to help extract a "Bright Light" operation pilot.
Thanks!
Dan
2 shots from an air strike in Laos on an Operation "BrightLights" extraction)
1) My "confirmation" that airstike had been observed and executed by my team. Required by MACV.
2) FAC photo of that air strike for the pilot extraction, via a Maguire rig, from a Huey. We had to "hoof" it back on foot.
The photos are piss poor due to the Instamatic we used in the field...if it survived the heat and humidity. The camera would but the film would get mold after a few hours unless in a "baggie". And they were not invented yet I believe!
These are just FYI for those here on MA2A that are patriots.

I just went back and looked at those images Douglas. Shutter speed ranges from 1/200th up to 1/800th, iso 100. The 800mm actually did a very good job given that it was about 90 degrees and those shots were captured between 10 am and mid afternoon, so the heat haze was substantial. All of those, and everything else that I ever shot with the 800mm was sans tripod. I thought it was pricey at $13,999, it was a bargain compared to the 20 grand they go for today! I'll tell you what though, that lens is as good as any credential, security usually took one look at that lens and stepped aside without a word.
OK, as Jan Arie knows so well, this covid thing is not a great deal of fun. If I had a "mild" case because I was triple vaccinated, I'd hate to see a full blown case, ugh! Today, around lunchtime, I finally felt like I had turned a corner of some sort. I'm grateful because I have work stacking up and winter brown is just around the corner. I did get four or five assignments done in spite of how I felt, but I was just barely going through the motions and I didn't dare do any of the helicopter assignments that clients are waiting for, it's been brutal.
Glad you're feeling better Jim, any kinda of sickness or bla just stinks, especially something serious.
Yes, fall is in the air it feels like sometimes, already...Keep on the mend and doing the beautiful work you do.

Leaves are a changin' here and some fall weather is upon us for at least a few days.
Sort of invigorating!

I'm glad that you had the mild version, I'm in a very long corner at the moment.
I have summer vacation at the moment but i'm not able to do very much.
Did the UK gig 4 days and I needed a week to recover, did the Belgium gig and I'm still out.
Coming Friday I'm going to the Belgium Ardennes with some friends for some R&R
Missed out on some great shots just because your not able to hold the camera and lens up for to long
But it is what it is.
Just keep your self in check and don't overstress the body, but knowing you that will be no problem.

I have just one good photo from the Heritage Flight and because Topaz sharpen and noise could make something of it.
It was horribly backlit so I made a B&W edit.. pretty pleased with the outcome.
I usually use Nik Collection to edit my noise and some sharpen but this wonderful.
I don't know how "bad" the original was J-A but I dont think NikSharpenPro maybe Dfine(noise) in combo can produce this...but your combo sure made a great image!
Nik's Tech Support recently leaves very much question of its product.

Yes, it's a three day gunite job. I'm going to be able to make a cool progress video from all these images, culminating in the finished beauty shots. I met my client at the site today and he mentioned that he just got a project that is bigger than this one, a residential olympic size pool. Now that he has broken through this level of deign/build, I think it's onward and upward and he deserves it.
