More coins for my Whidbey bday trip to play with the F-18's for three days...
Of course these all need to be polished up and looking good.
Have F4U coins, SR-71, F-22, F-14, P-38, F-16, F-15 coming later on.

Some really fine "Challenge coins" as we call them in the military unit reunions.,
I have so many I will have to have a craftsman build me a wall mount display to properly give these coins the respect they deserve!
One of the reasons that I love what I do so much is the wonderful people I have the opportunity to work with. Yesterday I set up a studio in a client's home and photographed decades of awards and memorabilia for a book we are creating. The client was Tom Engibous, Chairman Emeritus of Texas Instruments. I have know Tom and his sweet wife for twenty years and they are one of the nicest couples you would ever want to meet. Tom was the youngest President ever appointed at TI and his rise to that position came at a very tumultuous time for the company. The existing president died suddenly of a heart attack while on a business trip in Germany, the company was in a down cycle with the price of chips dropping through the floor. Tom assumed command, and proceeded to remake Texas Instruments, he and his team invented the HDTV/DLP, they invented Bluetooth and dozens of other technologies that we use daily. Tom's visionary leadership drove the company to never before achieved heights both domestically and on the world stage.
I meet and work with a lot of high powered individuals that breath very rarified air in the business environment, Tom Engibous is amongst that group, but you would never guess it if you met him. He is one of the warmest, humblest, most unassuming men I have ever met, refreshing to say the least, and his wife is a perfect match. We spent the day lighting and photographing over a hundred awards, magazine covers, one of a kind artifacts and gifts from heads of state around the globe, and reliving the associated memories, it was a real treat. Tom has a beautiful jet, but his first love is the ocean and he regularly plys it on his 120' custom built boat. He more than paid his dues and now he is enjoying the fruits of his labor.
Thanks Jim, that was such a fun trip and yes, coins turned out good.
.
Thanks Dan, and yes, these are challenge coins, making 180 right now and probably another 200 over the next few months. Have made quite a few for the F15 drivers, pilots and their crew as well. These are all to give away as a token of my appreciation for what these military folks do for us and this country. Of course, I might charge then a pix or two.
.
Wasn't that you that asked about a F4 coin Dan ?
I recently found out there will be a Thunderbird flyover at a stadium in DC on Sept 15 around sunset time. I have never photographed the TB at sunset so I will make the trip. I don't have a ticket to this USAF concert, I will try to find a spot maybe a mile outside to see how it goes.
A few more shots from last week's sunset show. You all have a great weekend.

Just magnificent photography displayed here Douglas!
A pure pleasure to view!!!!!
So well done!
Not sure what stadium you are refering to, Nationals?, old Redskin stadium? FedX field?
There are many elevated vantage points near all that may allow you an un-encumbered view to nail some great shots!

I may have Bill! I posted a photo of a hometown friend who lived the dream of most young boys, that of being a fighter jet pilot.
Ron flew F4's out of Thailand into North Vietnam after my 2 year tour, 1967-1969.
But some of my close air support came from his unit in my time period also.
I must post a shot I took inside of Laos( I never said that) of a F4 bombing run to help extract a "Bright Light" operation pilot.
Thanks!
Dan
2 shots from an air strike in Laos on an Operation "BrightLights" extraction)
1) My "confirmation" that airstike had been observed and executed by my team. Required by MACV.
2) FAC photo of that air strike for the pilot extraction, via a Maguire rig, from a Huey. We had to "hoof" it back on foot.
The photos are piss poor due to the Instamatic we used in the field...if it survived the heat and humidity. The camera would but the film would get mold after a few hours unless in a "baggie". And they were not invented yet I believe!
These are just FYI for those here on MA2A that are patriots.

Bill, Jim, Dan, Thank you! I am starting to enjoy shooting props. It was very frustrating not being able to get decent shots at slow shutter speed. The high frame rate of the newer cameras brings a new meaning to "spray and pray".
Dan, the stadium I was referring to is Audi Field, the stadium for the DC soccer team. I have access to the rooftop of my daughter's apartment building in Navy Yard but at sunset I will be shooting into the sun from that location. I am thinking of picking a spot along Ohio Drive on the other side of Washington Canal. It may be a bit too far. The concert at the stadium is for the celebration of the USAF's 75th anniversary. The Thunderbirds will be in the area for the Andrews show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will do a flyover for the concert on Thursday which will start at 6:30. I have never seen the TB at sunset so I want to give it a try. Joining the TB for the flyover will be B-25, B-17 F-16, F-35, F-22, F-15, KC-10, KC-46 and P-51. It's one heck of a flyover at sunset!
There will be 3 B-1Bs at Andrews, 1 for static display and 2 for the 2-ship flyby on Saturday. I am dreaming that they will send one up for a flyover with afterburner at the concert. I saw B-1B in the air only once (in 2020). Would love to see them taking off and landing at Andrews.

I was hoping these guys would show up in the camera since they were wearing the camouflage uniforms. Apparently they were a cloaking device to the defense because they were not around the receiver...

The 1 field I forgot about Douglas!
Maybe it will be overcast!
Anyway hope your shoot turns out fine!

Good evening just returned from a evening show yesterday and a show day today in Belgium.
Yesterday was a bit wet it was just ridicules but luckily just between the showers and the sunset there was a gap.
We were very fortunate that the Belgium organisers were able to book the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, 388th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah for the 75th anniversary of the USAF with a jet from RAF Lakenheat
So we were treated by MAJOR KRISTIN "BEO" WOLFE with a vapor fest show because it was just a bit more than 100% moisture in the air I had much troubles with the gear but if you google Sanicole sunset show there probably pop up some cool vapour cones only had a couple but i have some good ones from today together with a heritage flight with Dan Friedkin flying P51D the Texas Hun Hunter formerly February.....
