These are some special coins!

I recently found out there will be a Thunderbird flyover at a stadium in DC on Sept 15 around sunset time. I have never photographed the TB at sunset so I will make the trip. I don't have a ticket to this USAF concert, I will try to find a spot maybe a mile outside to see how it goes.

A few more shots from last week's sunset show. You all have a great weekend.

Douglas

Just magnificent photography displayed here Douglas!
A pure pleasure to view!!!!!
So well done!

Not sure what stadium you are refering to, Nationals?, old Redskin stadium? FedX field?
There are many elevated vantage points near all that may allow you an un-encumbered view to nail some great shots!
Dan

Bill, Jim, Dan, Thank you! I am starting to enjoy shooting props. It was very frustrating not being able to get decent shots at slow shutter speed. The high frame rate of the newer cameras brings a new meaning to "spray and pray".

Dan, the stadium I was referring to is Audi Field, the stadium for the DC soccer team. It's next to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. I have access to the rooftop of my daughter's apartment building in Navy Yard but at sunset I will be shooting into the sun from that location. I am thinking of picking a spot along Ohio Drive on the other side of Washington Canal. It may be a bit too far. The concert at the stadium is for the celebration of the USAF's 75th anniversary. The Thunderbirds will be in the area for the Andrews show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will do a flyover for the concert on Thursday which will start at 6:30. I have never seen the TB at sunset so I want to give it a try. Joining the TB for the flyover will be B-25, B-17 F-16, F-35, F-22, F-15, KC-10, KC-46 and P-51. It's one heck of a flyover at sunset!

There will be 3 B-1Bs at Andrews, 1 for static display and 2 for the 2-ship flyby on Saturday. I am dreaming that they will send one up for a flyover with afterburner at the concert. I saw B-1B in the air only once (in 2020). Would love to see them taking off and landing at Andrews.
