A new gun range opened in Allen about a year before the pandemic . I’ve not gone until today. One of my hangar mates and his son asked me to go with them. Very deluxe range , full service and state of the art. I burned through through a couple of hundred 9mm rounds, good refresher.
My Glock 32/9mm is a great CC pistol, but it’s magazine is a bit limited. One of my buddies had a new Glock 19. I shot 30 rounds with it and tight as the patterns were with my Glock, they were even better with the 19, and it has a double stack 15 round magazine.
The Canon XF650 arrived and I've got it pretty much configured. Looking forward to shooting something with it soon.Funny, I had a Sony PXW Z280 that was close to twice the price of the 650, and it was a great camera when the AF locked on but it hunted more than it locked on. Finally I just couldn't take the frustration. I think the Canon Dual Pixel AF system in the XF650 will put that to rest, we'll see.
I have fired two Glock 19's. They were both more accurate than I am.
I have a love/hate relationship with Glocks. They are ugly but like any good hammer, they work every time. Utterly reliable.
I have a 21, 45acp and a 34 long slide 9mm. This long slide pistol is basically a factory race gun. I have run it in the gun club Three-gun match a few times... It's a tack driver!
And, FWIW, if the SHTF for real, and you are the good guy in the equation (it won't matter for the bad guy, for obvious reasons ), your weapon WILL be taken in by LE because it IS evidence in the encounter. I'd much rather have a $500 Glock taken by LE than a $3500 custom 1911 race gun. Moral of story? Do NOT get into such encounters w/ high cost weapons. They get tossed in an evidence bag, and, depending upon the legal outcome and storage availability, could well end up on a collection bin, sans bag, tossed therein amongst others there, themselves to acquire busted sights, broken manual safety levers, deep scratches in the surfaces, etc. YMMV. and I'm not a lawyer, but, as the insurance industry ad dude announces: "I know a thing or two about these things."

Turns out that my son has a new Gen 5 Glock 19 so I am going to run a few more rounds through it before I upgrade.
The way that Texas is welcoming in Californians it won't be long before you lose the right to carry (or even posess) the majority of firearms you currently enjoy. Enjoy it while it lasts, because your state government is quickly injesting the cancer (ex-Californians) that will eventually kill the Texas that you know and love.

The Californians I have talked to who have moved here in Central Texas have told me they are more in line with Texas values than California. Sure, we are getting a few of the idiots, but it appears most are here to get away from the California garbage (crime, homeless and loss of liberties). And yes, they are packing!

I'm thinking of those that have moved because the tech companies they work for have moved to Texas, not those who are fleeing the insanity here. There is a difference between those fleeing California, and those moving because their employer has decided to move.

I don't think there are that many of the goofballs coming this way from what I can see, and a lot of tech companies are moving to this area. The California idiots don't want to move here for a job, they can find one in California. In fact, I see more people moving from the upper midwest than California, and they are more normal than liberal. Not fully conservative, but normal.
To your point, we are getting some idiots here and we are making life very unpleasant for them with our ways.
