Our friend in New Mexico loaned me some other slides that her father took.
Photos of High explosive testing at the Nevada Test Site and west of St. George Utah.
These slides are from the 1960's, photographed in and around the Nevada Test Site by Frank Collins while he was working for Sandia Corporation.
The dates in the photo descriptions are the developing dates listed on the slide frames. They may or may not be accurate to the date the photos were taken.
Some research shows that these tests are part of the Project Plowshare, tests to determine peaceful uses of nuclear weapons.
None of these photos show nuclear tests, they show high explosive tests that were precursors to the nuclear tests that followed.
They may include Operations with names such as Toboggan, Hobo, Stagecoach, Scooter, Rowboat etc.
Some photos show microbarograph calibration shots just west of St. George Utah. Those are labeled as such, where ID is possible.
I thought there were one of two airshows in Texas in October, where are the pictures??
Went out to Arlington, VA to take some shots of the full moonrise last night. The more I look at the moon near the top of the Washington Monument, the more it looks like it was meant for Halloween . Well, everyday is Halloween in Washington, regardless which party.

Hi Douglas,
Hold on, we are headed over to Alliance tomorrow morning, pictures to follow.................
I'm organizing my gear and charging batteries as we speak. I've decided to go a bit lighter on gear this year, the heavier video gear isn't making the trip. Think I'm going to try to enjoy this event instead of pummeling myself.
While organizing the R5 rolling case I noticed that the RF 15-35 spot was empty. I used it in Florida, haven't seen it since and that was kind of nauseating me. An hour later I was going through my over the shoulder Lowe Pro bag, and there it was, in a side pocket.................. I hate that feeling.
