Thes are a big let down after Douglas's amazing work but the first few are at least from an interesting viewpoint - the State House dome.
The last two are from our neighborhood - the osprey (feathered variety) shot between BA passes.

Ray, Jim, Ttown Aubie (sorry I forgot your real name), Dan and Patrick, thank you very much for your kind words!

Jim, the only reason you are selling anything to KEH is to get 3 Canon R3 bodies that are coming. I am sure it is a fantastic camera! I haven't read anything about the resolution yet.

Patrick, you got some shots from unique angles! I highly doubt that the BA will do the show at the academy this afternoon with this weather. Maybe they will postpone it for tomorrow!

Thanks Douglas,
Looking at the radar I think you may be right about today.
I do expect about a 5 second opportunity at 10:03 am on Friday when they should fly low over Lake Ogleton for the graduation flyover. Typically when they turn the smoke on too.

Really a fine perspective Patrick!!! Hopefully the "dome" will be done by next year!!!
Great captures!

Thanks Dan, you are too kind! Interesting captures maybe but not fine - the bar is high in this thread.

I was surprised they flew today - I thought Douglas had call it right. The visibility was awful - Thos Point Lighthouse is 2 1/2 miles from the end of our street and was barely visible.

I did manage a couple of OK shots though when they flew low enough by Tally Point.

Texas is as green as The Emerald Isle at the moment due to weeks of pretty regular rains. Today we had a bit of a respite so Chandler and I met up at the hangar and fired up the Cub. we had a little bit of wind out of the SSE to contend with but the air was solid as a rock and we had a great time, was usual. My Buddy John in the tower cranked up the field lights as we slid down final to a dusk landing, it was perfect. We went to Texas Roadhouse to "debrief" over a rack of ribs, priceless

A fine set of images, Patrick. Now the weather forecast for the show in Latrobe, Pa this weekend is 50% chance of rain. I bought one ticket for each of Saturday and Sunday hoping at least one of the two days would have good weather…these ain’t cheap tickets as they limit the attendance to 1000 vehicles. It’s a drive-in format.

Thanks Jim! I enjoy the Blue Angels every time they come to Annapolis for NA graduation and occasionally for other things like John McCain’s funeral but I am not a practiced - or knowledgeable - aficionado like the rest of you here. I get to shoot birds most of the year - ospreys, herons and eagles generally.

Thanks Douglas! Not cheap indeed but a good deal for a full car. I do hope the weather gods smile on you and I look forward to some great images.

As many of you know, we have had a highly unusual amount of rain here in Texas, in May. Lord knows we need to put off the 100 degrees of summer for as long as possible, along with the much needed moisture, but all of these clouds and rain, day in and day out, just REALLY depresses me.

With that being said, yesterday was a beautiful day and I decided to go out to Love Field and capture all the arrivals on Wednesday afternoon to help with an attitude adjustment.

Had lots of interesting aircraft come in, two of my favorites were the Dallas Mavericks B-757 coming back from their trip to the Los Angeles area, where they are currently holding a 2-0 lead against the LA Clippers. Their owner, Mark Cuban, got a really sweet deal on a Bombardier Global Express last year, he had flown with Gulfstream up until then. We don't see nearly as many Global Express jets as the Gulfstream line-up, but I still think it is a beautiful aircraft.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Patrick, more fine images!!!!!
It was hot, humid but clear here until mid afternoon then storms rolled in heavy!!!!! But we needed the rain BAD!!!!

Hopefully when graduation hits, the weather will be ideal for you! Every image doesn't have to be 100% to be a fine image.
Good luck!
Suzanne and I love Annapolis! We eat at Harry Browne's and Carrols Creek much!
Again good shooting and hoping for a great weather day for you!!
Dan

My sources are suggesting that the R3 probably won't arrive until later in the year. The Olympics are in doubt and Japan is still in the grip of a challenging manufacturing environment.

Just "between us" I'm finally going to do a major spring cleaning on my photo gear. Here's what I'll be selling. If it's interesting to anyone here, PM me and we'll make a deal before I put it on B&S (forgot to post this last week and jumped the gun by listing my 24-70G and 70-200G already).

My gear regrettably does not leave the house often, so all of it should be in great shape. The only thing I can't really guarantee is how much life the batteries for each one may have in them.

Nikon
* Nikon 70-200/2.8 G (already in B&S)
* Nikon D500 kit with 16-80 DX lens (~1,550 clicks on the shutter)
* Nikon SB-900 flashes (two of them)
* Nikon 500/4 G
* Nikon 80-400 G (needs a trip to Nikon Service for a loose button)

Micro Four Thirds
* Olympus EM-1 Mark I Kit with two lenses (14-42 II f/3.5-5.6, 40-150 f/4-5.6)
* Olympus 14-150 f/4-5.6
* Olympus 17mm f/1.8
* Olympus 45mm f/1.8
* Olympus 40-150 f/2.8 Pro
* Olympus 12-40 f/2.8 Pro

Point-and-Shoot
* Nearly-new Canon G7X Mark III (2-3 months old, used just a few times)
* Panasonic DMC-ZS20
* Olympus TG-4 Tough

I don't yet know what market value is for most of this stuff, but we'll figure that out together.

I went down to our community marina this morning to catch the Blue Angels at 10:03 en route for their flyover at the Navy Stadium. In past years I have moored the boat about 100 yards from the dock to get a clearer view with less masts in the way.
This year I decided to stay on the dock to get some location context - plus I have a lot of work repairing ou deck that I hope to wrap up before the weather moves in. The last couple of shots are to give and idea of where I was shooting from.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the comment! That was taken at RNAS Yeovilton, on the Friday practice day prior to the annual weekend show. Many years ago – may be 2010 – the first one I attended. Those Sea King egg beaters are long gone now……
