You get more reaction with aluminum vs wood. I think this is why Major League Baseball does not allow aluminum bats; the home runs from the aluminum bats would outpace the steroid era.
That, and the infielders wouldn't have any faces left.
Amidst my 4 hours of drone flight today, a huge field of Bluebonnets caught my eye by one of my projects. A Mom and her two little ones were sitting in the middle of the field of blue, one little guy asleep on her blanket, the other nestled in her arms. I left the drone, walked a few hundred feet to where she was sitting and introduced myself. The light was far from perfect but the warmth of the scene more than made up for it. I assumed her if she would like me to capture the moment for her, she looked at me in disbelief and said she would love that. I gave her my card and told her to email me and I'd zip them off to her this evening.
Kind of the way life should work, but doesn't seem to much anymore.

Yes, I can't tell you how many kids I have sent sport photos. When I am the only photographer at the game and a kid asks if I had any photos of them...they get 'em. When I know I am not taking money from a working photographer I have no problem sending them or making access on my web page available to them, especially the Jr. College athletes.
They will love the photo Jim, good on ya! It's a Texas thing!
My Canon Buddy has invited me to the Bosque Del Apache migration event this fall and I'm going to take him up on it. Mike B and I are going to shoot Eagles in his neck of the woods next February! Two things to look forward to!!

That's very nice of you, Jim! two weeks ago I took these two pictures with two different cameras, one of which is an infrared camera. After seeing this infrared picture on my computer, I wish I had asked the couple if they would like me to email them the pictures. I bet they would have loved them, especially the infrared one.
Exciting time for you with the land development, new puppies and the new Canon toys!!
Glad The liked that image! They are "Golden Doodles", a result of the girls confusing who should be let out into the backyard and when. Tex their Golden Retriever snuck out and Piper was already out so....................
The plan was to give the puppies to friends, and there are more than enough friends in line for them, but I know my Granddaughters and that was never going to happen. The girls lives now revolve around the six pups, Piper, Tex, three min-cows, four horses, two mini horses (in the process of foaling), two donkeys, seven ducks, six baby chickens, and I'm sure there is a partridge in a pear tree in there somewhere. They love them all and are remarkably responsible. I guess, given their lives over the past year and a half. this has been a good thing for them. I was out at the ranch the other day doing some tractor work and helping them plan the site for a beautiful new barn/paddock project that should start in the next month or so. Never a dull moment!
Off to drone a half dozen projects while the wind has dropped below 45...........................Show more →
That's what I call a "family" Jim!

Chandler and I met up for a late lunch yesterday and he was jonesing for the cockpit so we preflighted the Cub and taxied out. The controller gave us a wind check at the hold short line, "15G20" and anywhere from a 30 degree to a 45 degree cross. I hated to make the call but we headed back to the hangar. Could we have done it successfully? Probably, but why?
Finally got our pool up and running. The water is beginning to clear. The new system is light years better than the old one, not that I’m excited about it, ugh!

Exactamundo Ray! Just ask and it is theirs. If I photograph a person doing something, I ask permission then also ask if they would like a copy..free.

Hi Dan! Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed the spring pic – just what was intended.
Sad about the D of E – but not unexpected. Here in the UK we have a “thing” whereby folks, upon the occasion of their 100th birthday, receive a birthday card from HM Queen. A shame that HMQ will not get to send a card to her husband……. Oh well.
