No need to apologize Dan, wish I could get you to Texas, we would take care of you! Somehow Sheila hit the wrong key and our shots got scheduled at opposite ends of town and on different days. I drove her yesterday for her second dose and it was a bit of a mess, but one had to be appreciative of the effort, it was cold and there were a zillion cars in line. Knowing that I was going to have to repeat the drill again today for me didn't make me happy. I began asking if there wasn't a way to get my shot at this location yesterday and the answer kept coming up "No". When we got to the final stage a young lady came out to check Sheila's card and I explained the conundrum to her, she smiled and said, "Let me check something......" a few minutes later she came back with two syringes and a wink, proving two things, you can't ask too many times and there still are a few people in this world who aren't walking around with their head firmly "up and locked".
The horror stories about side effects are rampant, but we haven't experienced any to speak of. The first shot had me feeling a little off the next day, so far #2 didn't even leave me with a sore arm. Our in house Doc says give it 30 days to soak in and then go live your life. Hard to believe we have been virtually paralyzed for a year now. I'm thankful for the administration and the people in the private sector who sprung into action and, in record time, were responsible for us being immunized yesterday, credit where credit is due....Show more →
I have not heard of any side effects other than mild to little. I just want my wife to get it!
Glad someone has some brains and common sense.

This might be of interest to some of us here. I just ordered one o these strobes from Westcott for a particular project. I saw a press release on it months ago and was somewhat intrigued, then this project popped up and it seemed a perfect fit. I needed a strobe that is infinitely adjustable/customizable, battery powered and lightweight. Fitted with custom light modifiers this one should fit the bill, and at under $600 it is considerable more economical than my Elinchrom battery powered units and much more streamlined.
Eddie Ray, if this unit proves to be what I think it might, I'll loan it to you to play with on your sporting portrait assignments and you can see what you think of it. I'm going to use it as one of several tools to light paint Jeremy's beautiful Lone Star F/16 for starters.
Brian, I just finished the Mini DV dubbing project and started to go through the dubbed files. Some recorded perfectly, some recorded in that worthless multiple clip form, and some have no audio. Everything was recorded with exactly the same cable, same technique, same/same. When I go back to the master there is sound, ugh! I emailed Lifeflix to see if they might be able to shed some light on what might have taken place. Hopefully I can spare you some time and frustration. Haven't lit up your camera yet, but I'm close.

It works with the Canon ST-E3-RT Speedlite Transmitter? That would be intriguing! Would like that better than using speed lights.
Would add a lot of dimension getting the light off the camera.
I tossed him the football then had to snap the 5D SR.
I don't know if it works with the STE3 but I'll find out. Yes, you won't believe the instant difference in your images when you move your light even slightly off axis. Let me run it through it's paces and then I'll bring it down to you, we are way overdue for lunch anyway!
A good day for post processing around here, 70 vehicle pile up in Fort Worth began the day. We Texans don't do well with frozen precipitation......................
Well the RGB to splitter adapter to HDMI to USB--C was a bust. Got another adapter coming via Amazon tomorrow. Dubbing these tapes is proving to be quite a project.
An addendum, looks like I'm 3/4 of the way there with Brian's camera. I have the rib connections, just lacking a component S video cable which is now on it's way, again via Amazon. I have audio but no video so I'm guessing that will be the missing link.
Sitrep are all the Texas based DFW area people ok heard on the Dutch news about the chain collision just saw some photo's on the Alliance Aviation services page devastating..

Dallas/Ft. Worth has had much more ice and lower temps than us; we are about 100 miles southwest of Dallas. I have at least two inches of ice (not snow) on my road. When you walk on the grass you walk on a layer of crusty ice. Looks to be with us through next Wednesday or Thursday. Dang this global warming climate thingy!
Looks like Saturday evening starts the next round of precip, but the temps continue to plunge......-1 Sunday night?! Who authorized this in The Lone Star? Well Joe did say it would be "a long dark winter".....................

Thanks for being the guinea pig on this project! I'm on a PC, so I'm sure I have many challenges ahead of me when I get around to the transfers.
Thanks for all you have lent to this project! When the rib to adapter to HDMI to adapter to usb-c didn't work, I went back to the drawing board. I found this "Elgato" video capture device at Amazon. I believe it works for Mac and PC. There's a software driver that you download for your platform. I am getting audio which was more than I had before, so I think the Video S composite cable might be the final piece, it arrives sometime today.
I'll keep you posted. Man, one thing you realize right off the bat is how far video quality has come since Hi8. I guess that should be no surprise given it's been 20+ years. Some things have come a long way in two decades.....others not so much.
I'm headed to Ft. Worth hoping for a glimpse of blue sky and decent light at dusk. The forecast claims it will happen, but it's spitting snow at the moment. I've got still dusk shots to do and a little drone work as well. Guess I'll see how those hi-tech heated batteries in the Inspire 2 work at 17 degrees.

Yup, that was a bad one. I was shooting in SW Fort Worth today and had gas tanker trucks flying by me on the way home, thought about how much worse it could have been if one or two of those were in the mix.
