Having a real winter here in Iowa, Blizzard warning tomorrow................ Couple weeks back we had some fog and freezing temps that made for some nice scenery. Now that I am getting this Smugmug to FM embed thing figured out.
Hope you enjoy,
Dan
PS - Thanks Rob!
Born in Des Moines, live in Ft Dodge until 1957. Love Iowa!
Who knows Joe?! Right now I guess technically we are "cow" ranchers........ We have another one coming to keep Beckley company, then we'll be "cattle" ranchers.
Awesome Photo Glen! Happy New Year to you as well.
Been an active weather day today; view out of the patio door earlier today looking at the Grill, or trying to..........
After the snow cleared out we got to clean up the drive in 30 mph winds, think mother nature was un-doing our work faster than we cleared it from the drive.
And had some fun with reflections tonight. Thought it was cool to take a picture of the snow covered deck and have the kitchen in the background.
Enjoy and stay warm! Single digit highs with a couple days of below zero highs................ lows in the -10's to near -20F coming for the next week.

Great catch Ray!
The Saber jet was an integral part of the air support in Vietnam! Fast but not so fast that they blew right by the target only to return for another run.

The T-Bird had an extended life in the Air National Guard. They were used as instrument trainers and arial targets. Our Texas ANG unit received one from the assembly line in 1952 and it stayed with us until they were removed from service in the 1980's. We sent 3 to Mexico. One delivery was delayed when the Mexican pilot ejected the external wing tanks during the launch. The safety pins on the drop tanks and landing gear are pulled and shown to the pilot just before taxi. They are stowed in a cavity at the rear of the drop tank. After the crew chief stowed the pins he walked to the front of the T-Bird to marshal him out of the slot when suddenly the two tanks fell off. There was a little bit of fuel spillage on the flight line.
Glenn Watson let me barge in on his air to air photo shoot...
I have found the perfect spot for our grass strip, couple of family homes and room for our 9 Grandchildren to roam. We spent a couple of hours exploring the possibilities this morning...................... tired of the city, want to be far away from what is happening in this country.
Haven't visited this thread for a while. Hope everyone is well! Just wanted to share some shots from the Gettysburg Battle Field on Wednesday after the snow storm.
