Jeremy, Chandler and I have a great time together whether the photo ops are there or not, he is one of those people that you meet and you instantly recognize that he is a first rate human being. We're still working on our epic F16 shoot, but the maintenance hangar they are giving us as a studio seems to be constantly full of F16's in need of a tweak.
And just for grins, this image was with the R5 at 1/400th @iso 12800. The previous image was with the 1DX MKIII. The R5 has considerably less noise at 128000 when compared to the III at iso 32000.

The Boys tell us that 1 second at that power setting burns about a 55 gallon drum of jet fuel, makes my Landcruiser seem like a Prius..........

This new 650 arrived to pick a Buddy of mine up over the weekend for a little R&R in Vegas.................... Coincidentally, the same friend who had that beautiful G36 a few pages back.
I shot the first test images for the furnace assignment this morning. The copper runs through the furnace at approximately 2100 degrees "F", where I have to stand is a balmy 200 degrees. The bottom line is, I experimented and found that I can, in fact, capture the nuances the client is looking for, it ain't easy/pleasant, but it's achievable...........
Just going by what the folks who fly them told me, thanks for the info. A quick search bears out your facts, fake news is everywhere.
9846 gallans an hour in AB.........164 gallons per minute...................3 gallons a second. There was a lot of noise during the discussion............So it's three 55 gallon drums a minute, still impressive.

With 12,000 lbs fuel load (internal with 2 drop tanks) that would give him less than 11 minutes in full A/B; and that doesn't account for the start, taxi to end of runway and landing and taxi back to the slot. That would be a short sortie!

Having a real winter here in Iowa, Blizzard warning tomorrow................ Couple weeks back we had some fog and freezing temps that made for some nice scenery. Now that I am getting this Smugmug to FM embed thing figured out.
