Jim and all you flight jockeys ( I say that with the utmost respect!!!!)..there is a comet in the evening sky, Neowise.
Maybe a chance for some sunset images of it while in flight.

Douglas,
When America had its 200th bday and the "Tall Ships" paraded up the river into the Inner Harbor, I was at Ft McHenry right at the waters edge. Great location! Another is Federal Hill just a block off the Inner Harbor/Science Museum. IT is very high and a wonderful place for photos!
You DC images are just GREAT!!!! Love the framing and the exposures. Adds mood to the solemness of today's chaos!!
Dan
Thank you Dan! Two more shots from yesterday morning from different angles. If nothing else, the perk of living only 30 miles away from the swamp is the convenience to photograph the monuments and visit the museums, AND, LOTS of airshows in the region during normal years.

Loving your photos of DC! It is my favorite city to photo graph and the couple times I have been there the light was also wonderful, though not as awesome as what you are sharing. Keep it coming!
Although Dan I think you're a bit early. Right now it is still a dawn comet, looks like it will be in the evening sky later this month.
Mark
Thanks Mark! I did see your link previously. I went out last evening and Venus was very bright but I live in a "bowl" and cannot see the horizon. There is a wonderful very high overlook nearby where I photographed Hale Bopp way back when.

Thank you, Dan. I love taking sunrise/sunset pictures. I often would go to the same spots just to see the Lord's magic hand. Here are some more from recent years that I like. That's enough for now.

Hi Dan! Happy Weekend!! Have you had anymore opportunities to shoot with your MKII?

Jim,
I am enjoying the MKII, awesome tool! The auto focus is amazing and there is just something "different" about the files, some much better than any previous camera. I think a big part of it is in the metering, it just hits the exposure so much better in many lighting situations that the photo's just come out much better. Now this COVID thing is just got us sticking too close to home so the MKII just isn't getting used like it should but it's not collecting dust either.
I have been trying to shoot around town, here is a sample of some atmospherics, da moon, and Blue Bills in a local bird sanctuary.
And we have a new family Member, Adelaide! I seems I am now old enough to be a "Great Uncle". These photos were taken almost a month ago now, she was just 2 wks old and already raising her head. The MKII was soo much fun here, just a joy.
And finally some storms from this week. Wonderful color and clouds! Sorry Jim, this was done with the 6D because the 16-35 is sorta welded to that body at the moment and I wanted wide angle, ad as we all know mother nature and her light don't wait!
Sorry to bother you all with all this "non aviation" stuff, just blame Jim for prodding the bear to post so to speak.
