Well, I'm OSHA 10 hr and 40 hr certified. He's right about the N95 masks with vents, they do let you exhale. But I know from wearing them that not all your breath goes out the vent. Some does hit the inside of the mask, so as far as spewing droplets of potential virus, not awesome but better than nothing. And not all N95 masks have vents.
I think there is a bit of truth in some of his other points, but I definitely don't buy that it is safer without one. And don't forget, they are mostly to protect other people by catching your breath, they are not intended to filter out virus in the air you are breathing. The N95 do that, and that's why they should be saved for first responders and hospital workers that are elbows deep in the virus.
The bit about the cloth mask catching carbon dioxide? Sorry, that's total BS.
Mask wearing is NOT nonsense. Definitely wash your cloth masks often, but please keep wearing your masks in crowded stores and when near others.
One thing that he didn't mention is that the masks do make it slightly harder to breathe. So not everyone may have the lung capacity to wear them. And if you are wearing them in the heat, they do increase the risk of heat stress - take more breaks if you are exerting yourself in a mask.
Edit: Dang, TOPP. OK, here is a backyard cardinal.
Beautiful image Mark! Buddy, I do not pretend to know anything about it all and the more opinions I read and hear the less I know. That seems to pertain to more and more things in my daily life, so..........don't think me antagonistic because I just don't know. What I do know is that my circle of trust has become slightly larger than a BB over the last few years. I used to laugh at conspiracy theorists but I'm finding them closer to the truth than mainstream media these days. "Trust in the Lord............" Proverbs 3:5, never more true.

Thanks! I hear ya for sure, Jim. I just try to work my way through all the chaff and hope to have enough solid stuff left over to support my decisions. It's exhausting.
The N95 masks with the vent should have the vent taped if mask is being used for viral protection. Leave it open if it's being used for sanding, sheetrock work, etc. Yes, it has been shown they DO help protect but they are not nearly 100% effective and are completely useless if the mouth AND nose aren't covered. I see LOTS of people with the mask below their nose. Total waste!
Also, watch the KN95 masks. A very large % of them are defective and worthless.
That's all very true, I see lots of people with their mask pulled down below their nose and a number with them pulled under their chin, gotta wonder what the thought process is there. Last week when I was going to my cardiologist I put my mask on in the parking lot, walked three blocks, went up four floors, temps were in the high 90's with humidity to match. When I walked into the waiting room I felt like I was going to suffocate.
Mainstream media is saying our hospitals are in crisis, actual numbers we have 15,000 beds available and just under 6,000 ventilators unused.
This morning at dawn I mounted my cinema system on a beautiful Bell 407 for the first time. The footage is downloading as we speak, several hours of 4K/30 at 100mbs. The 407 is such a great platform (the a/c is the icing on the cake!) There are a few tweaks that need to be done with this application but I believe it is going to be a huge success.

A saying in our region: "injecting poison in honey" is what we are having all the time, specially with COVID, when you put a small fact like "red's RGB is FF0000" then start injecting whatever BS to make people believe something nasty!
Another saying: "Ignorance is human's first enemy" any human tends to believe anything, specially if well formatted "psychologically", and by modern means (social networks), they spread it like wildfire. My definition to that is "stupidity". Last March, my cousin broadcasted a message on Whatsapp which says: "Dr. I do not know who from far far away land" said (the use of a hair dryer in your nose for 2 minutes WILL kill the virus instantly because it will do bla bla bla. I called her, the first word was "hey idiot!"
"The pilot of a US Air Force fighter jet which crashed into the North Sea has been found dead.
The F-15C Eagle, from the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, crashed shortly after 09:30 BST while on a training mission.
The wreckage of the plane, thought to have crashed 74 nautical miles off the East Yorkshire coast, was found earlier.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
Col Will Marshall of the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath said: "The pilot of the downed F-15C Eagle from the 48th Fighter Wing has been located, and confirmed deceased. "
Chandler and I were up at dawn this morning and heading back over to Legend Aircraft for a quick meeting. Chili flew us over and I flew back, fun morning, priceless. Caught a few jets departing KTKI this afternoon, just couldn't let the majestic skyscapes go to waste............... The Canon 200-400 never fails to impress me.
