They are still hoping to have the Dayton Air Show.... but I too sense it's not going to happen. Dayton seems to be the #1 in the state for increase
Back in January I bought a photo pit ticket for the Lockheed Martin airshow in Orlando at the end of October. Who knows where things will be by then, and either way not sure I'll be anxious to be packed in with a bunch of other people even if the show goes ahead.
Our offices nationwide are closed through this month, and then we'll have a gradual reopening consistent with local rules. Plus we've got our own internal procedures everyone will have to follow. The biggest decision is that we're not going to go over 50% capacity in any office until there is a vaccine. Probably won't be a problem in my office in Boston, since so many of us take public transportation. Most of us are not going to be willing to get on a bus or the subway when we can keep working from home instead. I expect partitions, people sitting in every other cube, masks, one-way walkways, etc.
Been taking photos of birds in the back yard. Lots of orioles this year.
But it turns out orioles are not the only thing attracted to oranges.

Nick, that is just such a beautiful picture... I've never head the pleasure to be in your Country, so I confess location ignorance (among others). Where is it located? Superb colors that whet my VIVID sensibilities. I really like your work, Sir.
Hello Anthony,
Thank you very much for your kind appreciation. Thanks also to everyone for the “likes” - much appreciated, and glad that some enjoyment is had.
That sunrise was taken 07:53 29th October 2011. The location is Boulmer, Northumberland, UK. So think north east England, not quite in Scotland. Thea and I were packing up, ready to vacate our holiday rental. I was head down and busy. Thea came in the room and said “ Have you looked outside? Stop doing the packing and get your camera”. I went out the back of the cottage and what you see is what I saw…… Epic.
I was going to tell you those were funny looking birds!
Unfortunately, my new position is public facing, and I do have a chunk of plexiglass in front of me, but I still have to take things from the customers, put them on the scale, put them in the bins and carts in the back. Hopefully I'll be able to bid off asap. I've got a variety of cloth masks, and a few more on the way

It's wonderful when your muse knows you well and tells you to get that camera.

Yes, I've been reading but not posting. We are all fine, thank you for asking. Your family seems well too?
It's odd, without having to commute into the city, I get an extra couple of hours of sleep in the morning. And I should be able to shut things down and enjoy the time savings at the end of the day as well, but instead it seems I just work longer. I tell people all the time to set boundaries for work hours, but I'm unable to do it myself. So it feels like I have less leisure time than before.
I think it's just the stress of what is going on, and not having physical interaction with people. Online friends are great, but I miss actually being with people.
But I know we are very fortunate, so no real complaints.
Glad everyone here seems to be doing well. My cousin had Covid, he was very sick for a couple of weeks but managed to stay out of the hospital. He is one of the primary caregivers for his Mom, my 101-year old aunt. She also tested positive, but amazingly she never had symptoms. My grandmother was pregnant with her during the winter of 1918-1919, during the last pandemic.
This isn't just another day though, we lost my Mom 5 years ago today. So some sadness.
Good to hear, Mark that you've managed to avoid it. You may want to set a set of timers on your phone to remind you half hour, 15 minutes, then time to stop.
Sorry for the anniversary reminder you have, yesterday was the 8th year since...

Praise to God, normal.

Many things to learn from the situation, obvious things like time-waste in commuting while we can work from home!

Human nature, brother, no comments

The understanding of life is what makes THE difference! Life starts with birth and ends with death, whether we like it or not. Did I leave a good tale for myself? Do people remember me with anger? Joy?
Moses, Jesus, Mohamed and other prophets chosen by God all left to their destinies. They were the best men in mankind. So, leave yourself the best tale you can, as prophet Mohamed said: "None of you will have faith till he/she wishes for his/her brother/sister what he/she likes for him/herself"
The two days we spent shooting in East Texas were wonderful for a number of reasons, conditions were photographically perfect, but I soon realized that there was another reason I was having such a great time.....it was "normal", people were going about their lives, the restaurants we dined in were "distancing" but they weren't filled with people all masked up in panic mode, when you looked over in traffic one didn't see folks hunkered down inside their vehicles with masks on. Protests?...................Uh they wouldn't be too well received and would be very short in duration. The good people in East Texas are honest, kind and hard working, they respect their fellow human beings and expect the same in return, pretty simple, seems to work nicely.
Sheila and I have our masks, we wear them when it's appropriate, but after reading this today I may put mine on a shelf:
So Masks?
I am OSHA 10&30 certified. I know some of you are too. I don’t really know WHY OSHA hasn’t come forward and stopped the nonsense BUT
I wanna cover 3 things
• N95 masks and masks with exhale ports
• surgical masks
• filter or cloth masks
Okay so upon further inspection OSHA says some masks are okay and not okay in certain situations.
If you’re working with fumes and aerosol chemicals and you give your employees the wrong masks and they get sick you can be sued.
• N95 masks: are designed for CONTAMINATED environments. That means when you exhale through N95 the design is that you are exhaling into contamination. The exhale from N95 masks are vented to breath straight out without filtration. They don’t filter the air on the way out. They don’t need to.
Conclusion: if you’re in Stewart’s and the guy with Covid has N95 mask his covid breath is unfiltered being exhaled into Stewart’s (because it was designed for already contaminated environments, it’s not filtering your air on the way out)
• Surgical Mask: these masks were designed and approved for STERILE environments. The amount of particles and contaminants in the outside and indoor environments where people are CLOGG these masks very Very quickly. The moisture from your breath combined with the clogged mask with render it “useless” IF you come in contact with Covid and your mask traps it You become a walking virus dispenser. Everytime you put your mask on you are breathing the germs from EVERYWHERE you went. They should be changed or thrown out every “20-30 minutes in a non sterile environment”
Cloth masks: today three people pointed to their masks as the walked by me entering Lowe’s. They said “ya gotta wear your mask BRO” I said very clearly “those masks don’t work bro, in fact they MAKE you sicker” the “pshh’d” me.
By now hopefully you all know CLOTH masks do not filter anything. You mean the American flag one my aunt made? Yes. The one with sunflowers that looks so cute? Yes. The bandanna, the cut up t-shirt, the scarf ALL of them offer NO FILTERING whatsoever. As you exhale you are ridding your lungs of contaminants and carbon dioxide. Cloth masks trap this carbon dioxide the best. It actually risks health. The moisture caught in these masks can become mildew ridden over night. Dry coughing, enhanced allergies, sore throat are all symptoms of a micro-mold in your mask.
Ultimate Answer: N95 blows the virus into the air from a contaminated person.
The surgical mask is not designed for the outside world and will not filter the virus upon inhaling through it. It’s filtration works on the exhale. (Like a vacuum bag it only works one way)
Cloth masks are WORSE than none.
The CDC wants us to keep wearing masks. The masks don’t work.
*Occupational Safety & Health Administration sited.
The top American organization for safety.
They regulate and educate asbestos workers, surgical rooms, you name it.
If your mask gives you security wear it, just know it is a false sense of security.
If stores stopped enforcing it no one would continue this nonsense.
==============================
If work requires you to wear a mask, OSHA requires that your employer verifies you are receiving the minimum of 19.5% oxygen level by law! Are your oxygen levels being monitored while at work? Are you experiencing dizziness and headaches? This is a written law NOT a recommendation! I guarantee if employees started citing law and demanding their employers follow the law then the masks would go away!
Jim, I don't know where you found that, what is that person's medical qualifications?
What does your DOCTOR say to do? You know, the one that just recently said you were >< that close to death due to a cardiac event? The N95 is not a mask, it is a respirator, and must be fitted. Would you balk if a surgeon came to work on you without a surgical mask in place?
To think that in the mid-1800's, hand washing was not required, and doctors took umbrage at this one doctor who proved that it did save lives... now we think nothing of washing hands frequently.

What scares me more than a person without a mask is an infectious disease organization without a COVID-19 expert telling us they know everything about the disease when they have less than a 50% chance of being right. Remember, there isn't a COVID-19 expert alive. Common sense is your best friend.
My Cardiologist said that surgical masks are designed to be worn once and for relatively brief periods of time then thrown out, he said cotton masks are literally of no use, probably harmful. But, you know, opinions are like other body parts, everyone has one or two of them.
I'm a photographer, don't have a clue, what I am beginning to believe is that there are a whole lot of folks lying to push an agenda and I'm getting very weary of it. Sheila and I are being "careful", shutting down life is not an option at this point. My brother is independently wealthy, retired for years, he thinks everything should be shut down until who knows when............very convenient, not practical for those of us who depend on cash flow.
