Another airshow canceled. The Cleveland Airshow September 5, 6 & 7 (Labor Day Weekend) will not be held this year. This really stinks! I see too many stupid or just plain lazy people not wearing masks. At this rate the infection rate will keep right on climbing and any return to normalcy is a fairy tale.
I cannot say for certain, but The Fort Worth Alliance Air Show, in my opinion, has a pretty good chance of happening in October and man, will it feel good to be there this year!
I thought the same about our Cleveland show as it's still 2 and a half months from now. The thing is, with all these shows cancelled, even if there is one proceeding later, how many of the acts will still be proficient enough to perform?
Nick, that is just such a beautiful picture... I've never head the pleasure to be in your Country, so I confess location ignorance (among others). Where is it located? Superb colors that whet my VIVID sensibilities. I really like your work, Sir.
BUMMER! I was thinking about going the Cleveland show since AirVenture was cancelled. I have one last hope...the Thunder Over Michigan show at Willow Run Airport is still a go but the Governor hasn’t weighed in with her final decision yet. The Blue Angels are the featured performers so it would certainly be worth the drive up for me.
For Christmas, my daughter got me a ticket to see Garth Brooks down at the Reds stadium. It got bumped from May to this month, then bumped again TBA. She had until the 14th of June to get a refund on the ticket, or I could go. I chose to let her get the refund on the ticket. I don't know where in the stadium the seat was, but sitting with 70,000 people would not have made for a good time.
Houston (TX) also is reported to be close in needing a second shutdown. There's a lot still needing to be learned about this new strain of Corona virus.

Texas is using 'available hospital beds' as a measure for action. Here in Bell county we have had 3-4 days of our largest infection rates (over 25/day).
The health department reported: "The short version is all three hospitals reported more than adequate capacity as of today,” the county’s top elected official said. “The total of COVID patients was 16. So there are 16 COVID patients in all three of those facilities total. Five of that 16 are in (an intensive care unit). And one of the hospitals reported zero COVID patients in the hospital.”"
As long as they have hospital space, there will not be a shutdown. They are urging people to use common sense with social distance and masks.
Chandler and I just returned from East Texas and a two day shoot, delightful weather, light, ground of friends and a reminder of just how glad I am that The Good Lord put us in The Lone Star................. Here Chandler and his instructor touch down on a grass strip at sunset last evening. They were flying a fresh from the factory restoration of a Piper Super Cub and it was tricked out.
They jumped from that Super Cub into The MOAC (Mother Of All Cubs) as we orbited above waiting for them to climb up and join us............. The MOAC is a back country Cub on steroids, 180 hp, leading edge slats, big Tundra Tires, gun racks, glass Garmin panels and every option one could imagine. I haven't flown one yet so Chili is one up on ere, says it's a dream to fly..........
The "MOAC" just after dawn this morning. We ended yesterday out on a grass strip as the very last rays of light waned, began this morning hanging 500' above a glassy lake in the forest watching the sun come up..................
Working through hundreds of stills and a couple of hours of 4K footage. What fun to be back in the air. This client and I have put together an ongoing program for imagery of all kinds. We're going to head up to The Red River for a few days and shoot stills and video of river flying and sandbar landings.
Hey all. Been trying to catch up. Been fine, and lucky to be able to stay employed working from home. But it just seems like I have even less free time than when I was commuting to the office. Not sure why that is.....
Jim, huge relief that you're fine after your "episode"! I guess just another reminder of how fragile our lives are. You make sure you take care of yourself.
On Rodolfo, he and his family were here in Boston maybe 4 years ago touring colleges for his daughter. We were going to try to meet for lunch, but they only had one day and I think they were going to see three or four schools. Just no time. Haven't heard anything since. I have his cell, but I was never one that was close to him.
