Bummer on the hospital stay, spending that much time in a hospital usually means something serious. Hope you're well on the mend now! (deleted)
Just an infection in my leg. I get them fairly regularly. Serious? Well, it will kill you if left untreated.
Back when I had Kaiser I would go see my nurse practitioner, she would outline the infection, prescribe antibiotics, and send me home with instructions.to come back if I didn't see an improvement within 2 days. Then I had a follow up appointment in about 10 days when I was finished with the antibiotics.
Now days I don't have Kaiser, so when I go in with this it's "I'd feel better giving you IV antibiotics". When they decide that, you are stuck in the hospital until they feel comfortable sending you home with antibiotic pills. It sucks, but if they won't just give you the pills and send you home, you are stuck. Or, you could just go home anyway (and die).
Ken, Bummer on the infection. Glad things have been taking care of. Sounds like they might have thought the bacteria strain causing your infection might have adapted to the old antibiotic?

Since I lost Kaiser, they have always treated my infections with IV antibiotics, even though I gave them documentation from Kaiser, on what treatment has always worked in the past. It seems they want to make their own choices of what antibiotics I should take. The last time they chose poorly, after keeping me in the hospital, they sent me home with 2 different antibiotics, one of which I am apparently allergic to.
This time they sent me home with a pill version of one of the IV antibiotics they were giving me. I think they are being a little more cautious about what antibiotics they give me from now on. I know their records now show me as allergic to a whole family of antibiotics.
I'll live. It's just going to be a little painful until my leg shrinks back down to normal.
Ooof! Another 2015 Hitachi 8TB just gave up the ghost in that same array. Looks like 5 years +- is about what I'm going to get out of these. Got a new Iron Wolf 8TB headed this way from Amazon.
I am really attempting to knuckle down and update my website, create a business Facebook page and populate my Instagram with some images. I've let these tasks slip way too long and it bothers me each time Ii shake a new hand, or someone asks where they can go to see my work. Truthfully, I'd rather be out shooting and honing my skills instead of creating an up to date online presence, but it's something that I need to do.
The first step in this process is my business Facebook page, pretty basic right now, but it's a start:
Those of you who are considerably more web adept than I, any suggestions would be appreciated. I guess I need to begin to populate the page with posts from assignments? What's a good plan for making it "dynamic"?
hi,maybe I can be of some help to you if you can think out of the box, first go on amazon, order yourself
some olive leaf extract, min of 18percent oleuroprin and take them along with the antibiotics, when your done with the antibiotics stay on the olive leaf for good, olive leaf have strong antibiotic action as well as anti viral, anti fungal.I'd would go with 2000mg a day.It works hand in hand with the antibiotics and on it's own, while there many mrsa (muiltiple resistant bacterias)often overlooked and a special test(I believe a PRL?)is required to detect
is mycoplasma infections which there are strains which are blood borne and are NOT eradicated with most antibiotics and only the reproduction is slowed.olive leaf is effective against bacterias and generally they do not become resistant to it,and it kills mycoplasmas. Olive leaf will NOT do you harm unless you are on blood pressure meds or blood thinners as it "can"lower your blood pressure a tad, this is debatable however. Olive leaf is so great to use as it has many great qualities to it!!! But I am only trying to perk your ears a bit as I would hope you spend some time doing some research, obviously western meds are not working for you in the long run so why not give nature a try!!! There are other natural items out there but olive leaf is my go to and I can attest to it's effectiveness. Oh and get on probiotics while you are on antibiotics ok?
This is a medical update. Those who where expecting photography, and / or those of a delicate disposition. please look away now!
Those who have been in these parts for some time will know that I have an ongoing battle with Iron Deficiency Anaemia. This year the battle has been fought – and lost – in the testing arena, with a side order of iron infusions and debility. I’ve had all the ‘scope action, do it yourself gastro movie making, scanning and radio active dye X ray test known to medical science. All results reported as “normal”. Thea says I’m a lot of different things, but “normal” is not one of them! To cap it all my Hb went from 134 (just about in the normal range) to 63 in 28 days. Apparently this was outside any previous experience of the whole Gastro department. Oh well. They’ve now given up on the diagnostics. Good news is that they passed me on to the surgical team. Long story short, I had a minor procedure a couple of weeks ago and that looks to have been a success. My GP (family doctor) and I have found an Iron tablet that I can tolerate – provided that I follow a strict routine. So far Hb level has shown a small recovery, so hopefully I can get myself out of the Iron Infusion thing. In the meantime I continue to be a miserable bad tempered waste of space.

What ……. you have nine grands and no “Media Manager” ? What is the world coming too? Next thing you know, you’ll be expected to do stills and video and manage your own data centre and …. Oh wait.
Sometimes it pays to hire a pro to do those for you so you can go take more shots instead.

Where's the "don't like" button? Sorry about all of that nick, sure hope this begins your return to 100%. You're entitled to being a bit cranky given how long you've been battling this. Praying that this is good news in the long run for you, I know Thea is too........
Merry Christmas and that is a wonderful landscape image my friend, Be well!

Well that reply didn't end up where I expected it to, but you get my drift. "Chief cook and bottle washer" as my Dad used to say. Now if I could just get Sheila to split the profits with me I'd be in great shape. She would like me to do all that I do, have every capability known to man, corner every market......................but not spend a dime in the process. Can't quite figure out how to work that plan.
My marketing "luck" is in full swing today though, had a great meeting with the biggest construction/architectural "Who's Who" publication in the US and I think (for the first time in 43 years) I'm going to spend a few bucks on having someone else do the door knocking for me for the next 24 months. Not inexpensive, but the program includes feature articles, three full page ads, Web presence, networking gatherings with top clientele and a rep who is out meeting new potential clients every day. Weebeeseee!
That wasn't the lucky part though. I dropped by the hangar for a minute after that meeting and these guys were doing auto-rotation training in this beautiful big Bell. I grabbed some gear and captured them for twenty minutes or so, then zipped down to the ramp to say hello as they refueled. Turns out the guys fly for a multi-billionaire with a ton of real estate interests, including an island off the coast of Honduras, they are going to plug me in. Apparently his aviation interest are meager a BBJ, Falcon 9X, a couple of helo's and something else. My kind of guy, Capitalism.....take that Bernie!

We now return you to your scheduled programme ...Show more →
I know very well what you are going through, Nick, my wife is a Suckle Cell anaemia patient! The crazy Hb is a daily attraction
I wish you good health and speeeeeeeeeedy recovery my brother
I've been really busy since October, and haven't had a lot of time to post. The last two weeks I've been in Portland, Orange County CA, Indianapolis IN, Teteroboro NJ and now, today, San Jose, CA.
I was out on the ramp photographing a G-550 when this came in. Wish I had had my 70-200 instead of my 24-70.
I want to wish each and everyone on this thread a Merry Christmas. So thankful for all of God's blessings.
While I was on the ramp in SJC for the G-550, this Embraer 145XR taxied to the private aviation facility. From my understanding, it is one of three owned by Intel Corporation to transport their employees throughout the state of California, to their various plants.
