The pilot of a single-engine prop plane threw motorists for a loop Thursday when he made an emergency landing on a Washington State highway — and even stopped at a red light.
FYI - I was not in the area of Dayton where they had the mass shooting tonight. I was home in bed, have to work this morning sorting packages. Early reports are 7 dead so far.
Maybe a strange first post from Thunder Over Michigan. I was very surprised to see this airplane sitting at the end of the ramp. A Navy WV-2 (Navy version of Air Force EC-121). Not in good shape, but is (more or less) in one piece, can be wheeled outside and across the field for display. Very much a work in progress, a couple of the Yankee Air Museum volunteers had considerable time in this model, and one even spent two years flying in this very bird.

Steven this image is fantastic! It just screams power to me.
Thanks...it's actually from a random departure. The Belgians all left on the Sunday morning as they had another engagement in Belgium on the Sunday, then as we were leaving on Sunday night randomly Vador broke into the pattern and landed...turned out he'd just come back for the awards party.
This business never ceases to amaze. I had a project scheduled for late Thursday afternoon thorough dusk. The sky started out milky and worsened as the day wore on, becoming overcast. I had told my client that I would arrive at 7 for stills and drone work through dusk. Security is very rigorous at theses facilities so I headed over at 6, under a milky overcast, fully expecting to pull the plug. So glad I went through the motions.....................quite a result!

Interesting find JDE, is that like a Connie derivative? That would be quite a project wouldn't it?!
Yes, it is. And like all those who love old airplanes, these guys hope to restore it for display, but know it'll never fly again. Our friends at Wikipedia say, "The military version of the Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation was used to serve as an airborne early warning system to supplement the Distant Early Warning Line, using 2 large radomes (a vertical dome above and a horizontal one below the fuselage). Some EC-121s were also used for Signal Intelligence gathering (SIGINT). THe EC-121 was introduced in 1954 and phased out in 1978, although a single specially modified EW aircraft remained in USN service until 1982. "
BTW, if I had it to do over again, I would use my name rather than initials for the list. And my name is Jerry.
I went down to the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area last Friday to photograph this beautiful Gulfstream G-550.
It looks like a black paint scheme, yet it is actually dark blue. The interior is beautiful as well. I'll post a couple of
them when I complete all of them.
The owner wants a G-650 so he can fly from the Miami area to Tokyo non-stop. First world problems!

Just landed a 17 community drone project! Thanks to the kind mentorship and encouragement of my Buddy Mike Brewington, I’m up to the task Thanks Mike!
You are an easy study. Congrats on the new project. With your photo talent and the right drone/camera, the sky's the limit. You have just scratched the surface👍👍
