But the ultimate phase of that is with The Solo's.................
Well hello. So there I was thinking that you where taking things ease (not). Clearly, those AV8B shots are a triumph over adversity. The last Blue’s shot is just a triumph – full stop.
Thanks Nick! As The Navy Seals say, "The only easy day was yesterday!" Hopefully things will begin to green up in a month or so and it'll be Katy bar the door.
We are going to carve out some travel time this year as it's our 50th. I had planned to do a Highway 1 trip from San Diego through San Francisco, but based upon what is taking place in that state I'm rethinking that leg. San Diego is pitiful, a beautiful downtown littered with homeless people and the associated trash. Great restaurants whose entries are blocked by grocery carts, hefty trash bags and blankets. Portland was that way several years ago and I understand that it's just about uninhabitable now, and San Francisco, well even the Mayor is shocked at the human debris all over that beautiful city. So, we'll see.
That's ok, I'll be consulting with the docs again shortly. Roseanne RosannaDanna was right. I also have to get my hearing checked again and then my ears vacuumed out.
I was driving to work at 3AM when the snow turned into snizzle then rain. Today the snow is nothing but a memory and the ground is squishy.
Making slow progress with Bailey, occasionally I don't get hissed at, and she'll rub my legs.
Worked 113 hours in the last two weeks between the two jobs, barely had 3 hours sleep a night. Back at it again.

Good Morning Everyone,
Sorry for the long pause it's been a bit hectic for the last couple of weeks and I had to keep my eyes on the target. ISAP/El Centro was a blast, a weather challenge for sure, but great fun. Went straight from that shoot to Dayton (Sorry Laura, landed, shot, flew out) for a two day non stop sprint for Kettering Health Network, grabbing the last flight out last night after a 48 hour straight shoot. Fortunately the 3" of snow followed by heavy rain didn't affect my imagery, just the degree of miserableness Back in Dallas reorganizing for another assignment south of here.
The weather at El Centro was up and down, leaning toward the down side. I think this group was one of the nicest I've had the pleasure of shooting with and everyone took the atmospherics in stride. Heck, how often do you get vapor in the desert? The Blues had fun playing with us and we had a large Harrier contingent that made for some really cool images as they launched and recovered in intermittent rain showers. Chandler captured a half dozen of the coolest images he's ever shot and best of all, we were together....Show more →

Well OK, lets see if this works …... On no authority whatsoever, I herby order you to take yourself and your better half on a fabulous, life affirming trip. You will enjoy yourselves and have a good time. Happy memories are compulsory – phones, cameras, and all the other junk – not so much....... Right, I’m feeling much better now. Have a great weekend.

Wow Jim! that last Blues pic is amazing...I've been seeing a little of that shoot trickle out form other folks....talk about vapor!
In other news....after bargaining with the management, saving some cash and using a bit of last year's bonus....I have joined the cult of the full frame!
I'm so glad to be home and by the fire. Traveling on assignment is, as my Dear Dad used to say, "Like hitting yourself on the head with a hammer............it feels so good when you quit!" Haven't been on a flight this month that wasn't getting tossed all over the sky. Wednesday morning (3am) in DAY, I woke up to large water droplets hitting me on the forehead, turns out the ceiling at the Marriott was leaking and there were about six spots where huge drips are splattering on me, my pillow, the carpet, ugh. I just got up, showered, heck I was already halfway there, and headed out for my assignment at Kettering Health. By the time I left the hotel the snow had turned to heavy rain. I was only 15 minutes from the Hospital so it wasn't too bad but man, I don't miss that weather one bit.
I'm going to help Chandler with a little post processing from El Centro this weekend. He captured a number of great images but one of those ever lurking gremlins bit him. The sky was pretty dark and dismal when we arrived on base so he asked what he should bump his iso up to. I told him 400 for now would work. Right as the Blues launched the sky broke and we were shooting like crazy. Distracted by the action and a Blue who launched and had a serious gear malfunction, Chili didn't think to tame that iso 400 down a bit in the bright light. I had both 1DXII's cleaned at CPS for his shoot, but that doesn't do much good at f32. The images are great, certainly "fixable", but there's going to be some carpal tunnel syndrome involved....... Good lesson, be ever vigilant. When you think it's all too good to be true, it probably is, check to see what has gone wrong
