Went to the Reno air races for the 1st time.
Ended up getting credentials as my BIL wanted to get the "cool shots"
I realize here that my framing & prop-circles are apprentice-like but my excuse is I'm a bit rusty
Piazza San Marco is the core of Venezia and is full of people pretty much at any time of the day. If you go to San Marco and look toward the sea, just across the Giudecca Channel, you can see San Giorgio Maggiore, a little island dominated by a large church. The view looks like:
San Giorgio is one of my favorite places in Venezia, so I visited it together with my daughter. This shot of her looking at the other side of the channel was not posed, it was totally casual:
Hello
I am enjoying your pictures of Venice, Burano and Torcello.
I last saw those places in 2008 and the weather you are having is producing some really 'sparkling' light.
You might be having 'misty mornings and if you can try to get out before the street lights are turned off. In 2008 I was staying on Giudecca and one night got up, for the usual reason and noticed that it was misty. I quickly dressed and went out, but before I could take a picture, the lights were turned off. Nonetheless I carried on and took a vaporetto to the main Island. There was almost no one about. Magical!
St Michelle is also worth a visit.
Sadly I never got a picture of the misty morning with street lights, so I 'made' one in Lightroom
A few more from Reno
Getting out to the pylons was definitely worth it
But it was a windy/dusty 4+ hours.
For safety reasons, they moved us depending on racing line
