Last batch from Photowalk day. The last one is what I finally chose to enter. It made it out of local, but I don't expect much after that. Weebeesee. I decided to lower the exposure on the ceiling behind Belle, the lights were distracting me. Critique appreciated
For me you went a bit too dark, it makes the image look unbalanced and obviously manipulated. Perhaps half that amount plus some bluring, or a gradient toward darker with height?
Sticking to the gondola topic, even a quick trip is not cheap, but there is a different kind of gondola you can try for the cost of a bus ticket. They are called "gondola in piedi", that we can translate as: "stand-up gondola". They are bigger and served by a crew of two and serve as ferries to cross the Canal Grande in places were bridges are missing (there are only 4 bridges across the channel).
Local people know and use this kind of transport, but the tourists tend to be unaware of them. There use to be 7 locations for these kind of ferries, now they are down to 4. More info here: http://www.venice-tourism.com/en/transport/gondola-traghetto
Was so glad to be away from Texas last week, due to all the rainy weather, after a while, I NEED to see sunshine, and I found LOTS of it in Florida, at the NBAA Convention in Orlando. The temperature was above normal for this time of the year, 95 and HUMID, and it was so hot out at the static display, each day.
Before the show started, I photographed this beautiful Falcon 8X that had flown in from India, for the show. The pilots who helped me with this shoot were so nice, they must have been wiped out with their body clocks, they flew in from New Dehli via Bangor, ME.

Great image James! How did you light it, strobes, incandescent, flashlights?
Thanks Jim, I like the way it turned out. Have to confess I didn't set up the lighting as this was taken as part of a group shoot. From memory they were using dimmable LED panels. However, there was also some work in the digital darkroom
