That's a beauty Massimo! Wouldn't that be gorgeous in the air at sunset with your incredible landscape as a backdrop?!

Yes, it was even better in the air, especially because it was flying with another C-45 and a DC-3 next to it. Unfortunately the organizers increased the security distances to a point that even my 100-400 + 1.4 for a total of 560 mm was not sufficient to take decent shots.

I was registered as a spotter and was supposed to access a favorable area, but nobody knew about that for the first two days of the event... On the third and last day they finally figured out about the few poor bastards spotters and they offered us a place that was actually worst then the one available to the other visitors

Again, never seen such a poorly organized airshow in Switzerland

We have a ton of frostweed in our back yard. When the first hard freeze of the year comes, all the sap expands and freezes, pushing itself out of the stalks and creating white frozen flowers. They only last until the thaw and then they’re quickly gone.

Hi Jan Arie,

Wonderful images! Did you notice the intermittent "shudder" throughout "Lope's Hope"? I'm having lunch with Scott to catch up and one of the things on the list is cinematic gremlins. That is the every same syndrome I experienced with the Pitt's Model 12. I think mine was due to airflow over the camera and extended OLED viewfinder, not sure where Scott's originated but it definitely has the markings of a CMOS sensor effect. The only cinema camera not vulnerable to the effect is Sony's F-55, due to it's mechanical shutter. Funny, the F-55 is rather long in the

I think I noticed some, curious to see what Scott has to say about that.
The other thing I have noticed is that even uploaded in HD it's not the quality i'm used to but still very cool to see...

Once any spot on the web runs a video through their system the quality suffers.

I think it may also depend on the method used to upload it... at least with JPEG's, seems Flickr's bulk uploader would mess with quality of the jpegs. Not sure how Vimeo uploads work, I've not messed with it.

It's still brisk here in The Lone Star, but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. What's the wind chill when it's 38 degrees and there's an 80 knot wind............?

This is one of my $100M projects located in the $3B stretch up Central Expressway.

Jim...38F is a heat wave now here in Maryland! Wind chills at -10 and hasn't been out of the 20's for a daily high in weeks!!!!

I am going to just mention this book for all you aviation enthusiasts that enjoy planes and military history..

I am reading a wonderful book called "In Defense of Freedom: Stories of Courage and Sacrifice of WWII Army Air Force Flyers" by Wolfgang W.E. Samuel. A good read in between these excellent aircraft posts. The author was born in Germany during WWII and his praise of the P51 Mustang v. the Luftwaffe is unequalled.
Happy New Year "MA2A".
Dan

PS any olde time Spitfire's available and still flying?

Hi Dan! Happy New Year! Thanks for the reading suggestion!! Stay warm! I'm headed back into the sky today for a couple of hours, looks like it will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday.

Hi all. We made out fine. No issues, just tired. Shoveled/snow blowed my house, then had to drive 30 minutes to my Dad's and clear there. Got done around 1:30am, now back in my office in Boston.

Quite a bit of flooding next to the harbor yesterday and on the south shore (Scituate, Marshfield), but things seem back to normal now.

Going to be a nippy weekend, though. Forecast high temp for tomorrow is 10F, with lots of wind.

Mark

Saw the Cape and South Shore were getting hit pretty good, as well as Cape Ann. We're supposed to warm up above 32°F on Sunday, so maybe Monday for you. My niece says she got two feet of snow. I'm hoping the replica Motif didn't get hit too hard by this storm.

Dan...

You can come here to Bahrain or even to warmer Dubai
In Dubai the low is 60F with average daily of high 60's or even mid 70's, cooler in Bahrain with lower 60's and high 50's at night.

Thanks for the concern, we are good here in Middleborough, MA we kept our power through the storm and got about 12 to 14 inches of snow on the ground. Brutally cold & windy today and even worse tomorrow but after that temps. start going up with no snow in the 10 day forecast. We're inland but coastal towns faired worse than we did even areas of downtown Boston near the harbor flooded.

What a great community of folks here.
