Good luck Charles and stay safe. A comparison pic between Irma and Hurricane Andrew was on the news in UK last night. Irma is about 4 times the size or more. Absolutely massive.
Charles I'm hoping you and all our friends here will be safe. As Mark has observed Irma is huge. I am reminded just how lucky I am, here in my quiet sheltered little life.

In the "People Photography" forum, Fred Miranda just posted a "New Policy Regarding NSFW and Nudity".
Apparently he only posted this "New Policy" there, however the "New Policy" effects more than just NSFW, or images of Nudity (including linked images).
I would encourage you to read the "New Policy" because it appears parts of it would apply throughout all of Fred Miranda, and violating the "New Policy" can/will result in your account being locked, or your post (or the entire thread) being deleted.
Sounds like the advertisers (who pay the bills) have Fred's nuts in a vice, and are turning the handle.
EDIT: Why click a link, Below is the text of Fred's "New Policy" post.........
Hi Everyone,
In the past some members posted links to NSFW content, artistic nudes or fine art figure work on the People Photography's board.
However, effective immediately, these types of images will not be allowed here on fredmiranda.com - even if they are labeled and posted as links.
Our advertisers are demanding the removal of these threads from the site, and we are not in a financial position to go to war with them over this issue. I've exhausted all means of disputing this issue with them.
In adherence to our new policy, any previously posted threads of this nature are subject to immediate removal.
Your entire thread or post will be deleted and your account will be locked without further warning if you post anything that is: not suitable for work (NSFW), contains nudity of any kind, sexually oriented or explicit content or anything that can be deemed inappropriate -- which may also include offensive content such as bullying or intimidation of an individual or group, racial discrimination, hate group paraphernalia, graphic crime scene or accident images, cruelty to animals, murder and self-harm.
Ken, thanks for catching this for us - much appreciated.
I find this all very sad. My own posting policy is and has always been very simple. I put myself in the shoes of a parent looking at this tread with a child, sharing the experience. I try to post nothing that would trouble the parent or child or cause the parent embarrassment in explaining something to the child. So far I think I'm doing OK ....... but....
Nose Art that depicts anatomical studies of young ladies is now clearly forbidden - we've kinda been here before.
Historical material featuring symbols that some find offensive is now forbidden? So the Swastika painted on WWII aircraft or replicas is now forbidden? If so, what about the use of that symbol prior to it being hijacked by Mr Hitler? Aircraft Museums have become even more difficult to photograph.
I will need to be careful with my garden photography - all those statues featuring fair maids from ancient Greece...... hummm.
BTW, I'm not having a pop at Fred here. I can well understand the difficulty he finds himself in. It's just so sad.
Charles, be safe. My dad is staying put also. He wrote:
""We are staying in the house unless we have to leave, just like during Andrew in 1992, shortly after we had the previous house built. It held up well, good construction. This will be a test of this one!
We have all of our needed supplies, and the local needed facilities are very close."
Glod be with you Charles. Been through enough hurricanes I know of what you speak. Praying for all you guys in the storms path.
Earlier today I read the last C-5 is on it's way to the bone yard. They came into the inventory when I entered the USAF. They certainly had a rocky start, but served their purpose. (At the time, I was a C-141 mechanic.)
Well, that pretty much takes me out of the game. No more RC planes with nose art, no more nature shots of birds eating fish, a Owl with a snake in its mouth, or god forbid mating.
Mike
"A camera is a tool, it's only as good or as bad as the person who operates it"
I feel for Fred. This censorship by private companies is so dangerous and so wrong-headed at so many levels that it is hard to know where to begin. The only solution may be a subscription model without advertizing.

And yet, the B-52's roll on and on.... are we up to the great grandchildren or great great grandchildren of the original pilots flying them now?

What the heck? This morning after I posted I had to edit for TOPP, but now it's in the middle of the page? Does page length now change depending on what device you're viewing it on?

Remember the recent "unpleasant" discussion started when Jim posted that Texas was rapidly running out of gas, and Jay Davis responded? Well every post in that discussion (except for Jim's original post) is gone. Any post that was part of that discussion has been removed, even if the majority of the post had nothing to do with the disagreement, the post was removed, no matter who wrote it.
I don't know if on reflection Jim, or Jay, decided that the discussion didn't reflect well on them, and asked Fred to "edit" the thread, or if Fred reads MA2A occasionally, and decided to eliminate those posts. Doesn't matter, that's what is missing.
I checked, and it appears that neither Jay's, or Jim's, accounts have been locked, and Jay's earlier posts to MA2A are still up.
As soon as someone mentioned "missing posts" I had a suspicion that the "gas" conversation was removed.
