No kidding. The forecast track has been getting closer and closer to Miami over time, until this morning's latest update shows the storm arriving right over Miami as a Cat4 (sustained 145mph) on Sunday at 11am. Tropical-storm winds will start on Saturday and end on Monday. The projected track is almost straight south-north, as though it's trying to cover as much of the coast as possible. Gee, thanks.
We're getting the heck out of Dodge today, but millions of others in Miami and other parts of Florida won't be as lucky...
May everyone in FL heed the warnings and head away from the storm. My dad lives in The Villages now, so this time of year I do worry. With the highest elevation of the Keys being 18 feet, I'm hoping everyone gets outta there toot de sweet.
Hope everyone ok in this crazy world (both natural & political)
Been a long time since I've shot any aircraft with trips to Germany with work absorbing precious time. Our annual holiday usually gives me time to catch up sorting through the thousands of airshows shots but still sorting through shots from May....
Mind you when you have scenery like this to enjoy who's complaining
Great job James. Sadly we may have seen the last of that Sea Vixen flying. Apparently the recent wheels up landing has resulted in a monumental repair bill - so sad.
I have just heard that my image of the William Fife Gaff Cutter Mariquita (meaning ladybird in Spanish) which was built in 1911 and is probably the last 19-Metre in existence, taken during the 2015 Round the Island Race has reached the final six images in Category D "True Classic" in the 2017 National Historic Ships UK photographic competition. Winners to be selected at an event in London in early November in the presence of The Princess Royal - chuffed wouldn't start t describe my feelings!!

Channeling Beken of Cowes, Niall? Really splendid sailing shot!
In the "People Photography" forum, Fred Miranda just posted a "New Policy Regarding NSFW and Nudity".
Apparently he only posted this "New Policy" there, however the "New Policy" effects more than just NSFW, or images of Nudity (including linked images).
I would encourage you to read the "New Policy" because it appears parts of it would apply throughout all of Fred Miranda, and violating the "New Policy" can/will result in your account being locked, or your post (or the entire thread) being deleted.
Sounds like the advertisers (who pay the bills) have Fred's nuts in a vice, and are turning the handle.
EDIT: Why click a link, Below is the text of Fred's "New Policy" post.........
Hi Everyone,
In the past some members posted links to NSFW content, artistic nudes or fine art figure work on the People Photography's board.
However, effective immediately, these types of images will not be allowed here on fredmiranda.com - even if they are labeled and posted as links.
Our advertisers are demanding the removal of these threads from the site, and we are not in a financial position to go to war with them over this issue. I've exhausted all means of disputing this issue with them.
In adherence to our new policy, any previously posted threads of this nature are subject to immediate removal.
Your entire thread or post will be deleted and your account will be locked without further warning if you post anything that is: not suitable for work (NSFW), contains nudity of any kind, sexually oriented or explicit content or anything that can be deemed inappropriate -- which may also include offensive content such as bullying or intimidation of an individual or group, racial discrimination, hate group paraphernalia, graphic crime scene or accident images, cruelty to animals, murder and self-harm.

So Ken, are you thinking that some nose art that occasionally makes its way onto our thread could be viewed as a violation?
Mark
I don't know. I didn't think of nose art, but that may be an issue. There is some discussion going on in the linked thread in reference to statues of nude figures. Who knows how this will shake out.
I was more concerned about some of the other items listed in the post, not in the title. You get in a heated exchange, and post something about the other person, that you almost immediately regret. Before you can even go back to edit your post, or apologize, you find your account locked and your post deleted, or worst yet the entire thread you posted in deleted.
The "New Policy" doesn't say you will get a warning, it says you will be gone. Forget the "Three Strikes" law, this is a "One Strike" policy. One oops, and it's bye, bye.
Thought I should make sure everyone here knows about the new rules.
Irma is an intimidating storm, and tonight as I write this the eye is projected to go directly over us Sunday night or early Monday morning. We shall soon see ...
I know what to expect: half a century ago I was in Hurricane Audrey that killed over 400 people. In the midst of the storm a tornado silently erased a row of houses across the street from us.
Everything disappeared into the raging night; nothing left but the slabs and a few plumbing stubs while we remained safe inside our home as the storm pounded and shrieked.
But knowing what to expect isn't the same as living with the reality of it.
Tonight I looked out over the back deck and and saw a gorgeous waning full moon peeking through the trees and realized how important it is to have a sense of hope and faith in a purpose bigger than the 'great unknown.'
I once wrote about Prayer after someone said "You believe in Prayer? Now that's real faith!"
I said "Not really, Real Faith is waiting until you are in a desperate situation and sending up a prayer addressed "To Whom It May Concern."
The Great Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 changed Florida and countless lives forever. Tonight it is likely sweeping change will come to us in the next days ... but if so, the loss, adversity and restoration can be an opportunity to build our lives again ... this time, on a better, more solid foundation.

A troublesome portion of the policy states, "or anything that can be deemed inappropriate." Unfortunately, in this wide, wide world, there may be someone who may deem almost anything as inappropriate.
