Nice one, Jim. I'm really liking the versatility, and lightness, of this lens compared to my old 500 f/4 or 800 f/5.6. This one from a park near my house.

Gerov, are you going to the airshow at Andrews next weekend? That's one show that I only need to drive 20 minutes instead of the usual 3-5 hours. But I will be in Belgium that same weekend.

I thought that you would like it Gero, glad you do. Every once in a while I have to really crank up the iso due to the aperture at 800mm, but it really hasn't been an issue. The darn lens really performs, sharp, relatively fast and great color and contrast. I'm very surprised Canon didn't put it out for at least three grand, it's a bargain.
I have a shoot next week that would be a great familiarization run with the new Blad camera. The client wants me to shoot a newly designed and fabricated 777 freight door and they want to print it 12' wide as a trade show booth backdrop. The R5II will do fine but it would be nice to have the 100mp Hasselblad file to work from. I could use the existing model because auto focus isn't an issue, nor are the other updates, just need the big sensor. We'll see if Hasselblad can produce something for me in time.
Another Friday Night Dungeon, this week in Round Rock at their old stadium. However, the R6 with the mighty 70-200 Z at f:2.8, 1/1250, ISO 20,000 and Lightroom Denoise saved the night. There is some noise left on the runners forearm and in the darker background, but most of the subject looks good. Tonight I am at UMHB which has great lights for this area.
He has just stepped over the goal line for a touchdown.
Thanks Joe! I am trying to look at his work objectively (a bit difficult to do) but he is amazing me. The way he cradles the camera, his intuition as far as camera settings and composition, and his end product, all really intrigue me. Yesterday afternoon we were out at the hangar and he was shooting my Buddy Tim departing in his helicopter. After Tim left he handed me his camera and asked if I could just let him have some time by himself in a spot in our complex that looks toward the runway. I asked him why and he said he just wanted to look at possible backgrounds and watch the light change so he would be prepared for future shots from that area..........................."my cup overfloweth..............."
I generally don't coach him much now, he creates his own images. He'll ask me a question here and there, but here is a good example that he captured the other day, completely on his own............... Not too shabby for a barely seven year old little guy........
I have to confess that I am once again feeling that "Hasselblad" anticipation that I felt each time I cradled my Blads in my hands on a shoot. This is not the "II", that arrives later this month, it's a brand new X2D 100C that has been given to me to get up to speed on the new system. Just holding it is a joy....................... The batteries are charging and I'm scrolling through the menu system. James is going to be very intrigued.
