Just got word that the Polish Air Force Demo F 16 crashed during evening training at Radom Airbase Poland.
Pilot did not survived impact.
Yes, very sad. Just saw the video. The team is scheduled to perform in Sanicole show in two weeks. I was looking forward to seeing F-16s with the conformal fuel tanks. I have never seen one before. RIP, Major “SLAB”.

They just cancelled the airshow.

I would guess, that was a terrible impact and for a long distance.
Yes! He was coming in hot and it looked like he had the burner lit (relighter for our UK friends). I bet he pulled the nearly immovable side-stick controller so far back at the end he broke it off the console.
If it wasn't for the technological advances in our cameras, lenses and software, I don't think I could do this job. I was at a field with 3 year old LED stadium lights that are great between the 25 yard lines, but suck from the end zone to the 20. The first photo is a .jpg out of the camera, the second is how much the software can bring out the details captured by the hardware (1/1250, f:5.6 with the R6 and 70-200 Z+ 2x tele):
How often does that cross my mind Ray. We have become very spoiled for sure but heck, we earned it working our way up through the ranks with ancient gear.
I do not for a minute regret buying the RF200-800 because it is a piece of work, but the Primes are incrementally faster in capture and sometimes it's that "increment" that separates success from blaaaaah. Just shot this with the RF600/4, another lens that I do not regret shelling out for.
That's the $14000.00 part Ray. One can get very close, and for a lot less, but to get that, you have to pony up. Always a dilemma, is "very close" good enough,? After much soul searching and gnashing of teeth, the answer for me is always no. Actually I am going through this dilemma with Hasselblad to a degree right now. Yes I am sure that the 102MP X2DII and the associated lenses will produce stellar imagery, but do I want yet another case to schlep, another system, no matter how brilliant? The more I mull it over, the less enthused I become. I still haven't come close to getting into the corners of my C400 and I really want to. "Very close" will never be acceptable to me, but maybe I just stick with the gear that I have been blessed with and don't complicate my life anymore than it already is.
I'm tired and I always slide into retreat mode when I am exhausted, when I'm rested I'll probably be all over it...............
Harvest season is here. I see northern Montana is just getting started. This was down in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington with the new drone. It continues to amaze me. The quality of the little Hassleblad camera hanging from four mean little props is hard to beat.

Nice balloon there Dan, love it when they are here.
My neighbor has this 1 balloon and an ultralight. He zooms over my house all the time and drops "stuff" on my house and yard to wake me up!
He grows pumpkins in the Fall and I see that his "pumpkin patch" is filling quickly. That is his favorite of "bombs"!
Thanks brother!
