Well guys, it's been a busy couple weeks getting to know the Mavic 4 Pro. some of the improvements are of course better stills and better video. It was a big investment to throw in the air with no recourse if it crashes. I've used it on a couple jobs so far and wandered out in the mountains trying to beat the heat. It is so sad to see the dead snags in Bill's forest. I grew up in a logging community in Northwest Montana and the saying was "Log it or Burn it!" Here is a video from our area in SW Washington where it is being logged and hopefully not burned. Forest management is critical. We need the balance.
Thanks Bill. I have an 8 and a 16 ND and a CPL but have not put them on yet. On the 28mm (main camera) it has variable aperture 2.0 - 11.0 if I remember correctly. The other two are fixed aperture. I have always struggled to retain blue skies and discovered I was over-exposing the sky losing critical detail. I now live by the over-exposure warnings (zebra stripes) and sky has become a non-issue. Yes it is beautiful up there. I'm lucky to have scenery like that within 30 minutes of the house.

30 minutes from there, you lucky dog, been all over up there and into Alberta, Banff and Jasper and all in between including some jeep trails and old cabins, love the whole country.
I have Mike on retainer............................the guy can fix anything/figure out anything, aside from being the best friend I've never met...... Here's a question for you Mike, as my mantra is "anything worth doing is worth over doing", I bought a 512 GB micro sdxc for the Mavic 4, can I set it up to record redundantly to both memories? My other mantra is, "just because I am paranoid, doesn't mean that they aren't after me!"
I have shot untold Terabytes on the waters of this lake, gotta say that I have never done it with a more capable camera. The R5II and its eye recognition is nothing short of spectacular. Every image is tack sharp, I just have to choose the best light/water spray/expression. Going through these captures I sure can remember when there were a lot of "almosts and flat out misses"............Sure, I always captured something good, but the choices this gear enables is just silly.

And a heavy retainer it is. Truth is the friend and brother discount renders me penniless. At the present time the answer is no but…we may get lucky with a future firmware update. Currently the SSD is so much quicker than the micro SD that writing to the micro SD simultaneously would just put bumps in the road. I’m really enjoying processing All-I video in 4K & 6K. I know the results are hard to see with YouTube dumbing it down.
Bill, it is a great area to live but way too many people. Our location gives us access to the Columbia River Gorge, four volcanos and the Oregon Coast all within a couple hours driving. Having family in BC and Alberta gives us excuses to visit Banff and Jasper on a whim. If not for my wife feeling the need to be near good doctors we would be settled somewhere near the top of the Idaho Panhandle.
I had a lunch meeting with a great new client that I'm working with yesterday, picked up a number of new upcoming projects that we'll be working on together. I've been neglecting the C400 a bit and still have a few little attachments that I'm trying to incorporate, so I stopped be DFW on the way to my next meeting. This was captured with the RF200-800 on a blistering 97 degree day.

One little wrinkle to work out, audio, and I think it's finished......................
Wow Jim! This looks like a piece of modern military hardware!
I studied Sun Tzu while in Ranger school and he taught that one achieves victory thorough "stategic planning and deception"....
This has to be some kind of elite "weapon", if you will, disguised as a piece of video/photographic equipment! ...
How heavy is "the beast"?
You definitely are "into" your equipment and that is a good thing Jim!
Have fun! ...I dig your shorts and Chandler's!!
