I’m in the North Atlantic about 250 NM southwest of Gibraltar on slow boat to Rome.. The FM ads are all in German yet the posts are in English. Interesting! Love the photos guys!
I bit the bullet although the trade-in value was a bit disappointing, I traded in all my gear except the 1Dmk4 no value left and my old analog Eos 3 for sentimental value.
This is my new set for the future, one thing is certain it's much lighter

You are all set Jan Arie! Welcome to a whole new world of photography.
I'm working on a still and video library for our homeless ministry. Today was "serve Saturday" so I went and captured the first traunch of images and video for the project. Just finished a short video for them to use tomorrow morning. Very special to be able to contribute to such a wonderful ministry. I realized years ago that you can't let yourself get twisted up in the why's and wherefore's of homelessness if you are going to be involved in that kind of ministry. You just go and serve, and let the people whose job it is to solve the problem sort that end out. This imagery will, hopefully, help to call attention to the needs of those folks, and serve as a tool to procure food donations from reputable sources.
The weather was pretty rugged when I went downtown to shoot this morning so I chose the R5II/RF24-105 Z, and left the C400 at home. The camera performed beautifully, even though it was wet and very subdued lighting. These new tools are just incredible!
Here one with the old 500 F4L with a 2.0 III ext at 1000 mm F8

Great shot, J-A!
I just came home form Sun N Fun in Florida. Didn't stay for the entirety of Saturday's evening show because I had to rush to Cape Canaveral to watch my first SpaceX launch. I used the new 400-800mm for the day time show, and the 300 F2.8+1.4X Tc for the sunset show. the 400-800 is great but 400mm is a bit too long sometimes. I saw quite a few Canon folks shooting with the 200-800.
I didn't get to do A2A this time. They had some really nice join-ups, 2xF-35, 2xEA-18, 2XA10, AND a TF-104G! I didn't how big a deal it was with the TF-104G flying 25 minutes for them until I read about it.
Will post some shots before the end of this week...
For those of you who have upgraded to the R5II, I just finished cleaning the sensors on mine for the first time. I picked up a little crud at Barksdale in the wind I guess, it wasn't a big deal on still images but it really wreaks havoc with any video clip. Didn't matter a whole lot on that shoot because the sky was horrible for much of it.
Anyway, the sensor on the II bodies seems to be much less prone to streaking in the cleaning process. All my previous sensors required multiple swabs and copious passes to remove sensor cleaning residue, the II sensor exhibited none of that tendency. I had one positive opacity spot right in the center of the sensor that required multiple passes to get rid of. I almost thought that it was something on the rear lens element, but there was nothing when I checked. So, don't be afraid to clean your sensor, just be gentle and use a reputable product. Sending a camera in to have the sensor cleaned is a waste of time and money, I quit doing it a decade ago.
TF-104G...Dam Douglas, you shoulda done it !!!
.
They need a unit that will fit on the camera body ( like a lens ) and blow a little air and vacuum at the same time or on and off again to clean sensors...You think that would work without having to actually touch the sensor with anything
