Love the disks, Jim! When I shoot props from the ground I may get 1 of out 30 or even 50 that is sharp enough (not tack sharp necessarily) to keep, but when I shot A2A this year, perhaps 1 out of 30 is not tack sharp. I still have a lot of files from the Sun N Fun A2A shoot that I haven't touched. Psychologically it's hard to me to delete those perfectly sharp A2A prop shots because I struggle so much to get a few good ones from the ground. I guess I will just keep them and go through them again when I am unburdened by what it has been. A nice problem to have. I am looking at a 24TB hard drive
Man ... just like we like um. Up close and personal. Guess we're switching to video now !?!

They did an A2A project at the Abbotsford International Airshow in British Columbia, Canada few weeks ago. They got two F-22s and three a-10s flying for them at sunset with snow-capped mountains in the background. They had a few historical planes for join-ups too. My main interest is modern fighter jets though. I guess I will do a few more these A2A thingies before I die.

My friend at the Air Show this weekend showed me the Abbotsford video, his friend of a friend did it and wow, what an opportunity and such a blast...He said the show was really good as well. I always wanted to go to that and see the Migs and Tornados.
My Buddy who owned this T28 would say he could feel each cylinder hit and he figured it was about a gallon each time............I'm sure that was an exaggeration, just seemed like it when he filled up.
Took the R5 II to the Rangers game this evening and we got to know each other a bit better. I switched to digital shutter and auto iso, so we'll see how it performed. My eyes were telling me that it's my dream camera. I have a dawn shoot tomorrow so I'm not going to be able to look at my shots tonight.
So, I learned a little more about the shutter button focus and the back focus button. The shutter button focus activates continual tracking and eye recognition, it works beautifully. Once you have your subject nailed, you can hit the bak button snd, if you hold it, the camera locks focus on whatever point you have chosen. They work really well with each other, you just have to be conscious of the fact that your focus point might need to be updated and you need to pop off of the back focus button for a moment in order to let the front focus button update the focus point. All that said, this camera is so dead on it's ridiculous............
Please overlook the faint imprint of the protective netting, the 100-500 almost made it vanish, but not totally..
CIAS Toronto 2024. No F-35 this time but Raptor and Hornet kept us entertained. They have the show set up by Lake Ontario and timing and sun location does not make it ideal to get great shots. Here are few i deemed sharing There was a designated area called Photographers Pit but i was late as it get sold out pretty fast. Met few folks from UK who strangely prefer shooting F-22 over F-35

Cheers,

Awesome shots! I personally think the F-22 is a lot more photogenic than the F-35. Looks like the F-22 demo pops flare at all shows now.

Thanks Douglas. Your work is sort of inspiration to us all
I was surprised as well to see the flares.
