Geez David. That full on croc shot is amazing

Anyhow, change of circumstances coming up for me. Looking to retire back onto a small farming block in central NSW. My research took me deep into the Murrumbidgee Irrigation area
Day 1 I traveled approx 750 miles sitting on 75mph mostly on two lane rds which I shared with what seemed like wall to wall "B" doubles (600 HP Kenworths w two trailers making up 32 wheels) sitting on 70 mph. Saw some great potential pics but on has to be careful about stopping quickly with 60+ tons a 100 yards behind you hence I really did not get what I wanted but here is a few to share
Tubbo station was in its heyday 750,000 acres running around 122,000 sheep. and the woolshed had a board for 100 shearers all with hand shears
Later on because some idiot went to sleep and drifted into the path of one of these B double killing himself and causing a 75 mph jack knife. Unfortunately the police were in no mind to let me take a pic of this monster on its side bur they did give me a 95 mile gravel rd diversion which meant I finished in the dark

Sunset might be pretty but avoiding 80 miles of wall to wall kangaroos at the end of a long drive was no fun

Been a while since I visited this thread, so spent some time going through a few pages. Love it when other peoples pics make me want to get out and shoot.

I always enjoy visiting this thread.... so many lovely photos. Here are a few of my recent favs..... exif intact on Flickr.
My wife and I went to our first rodeo up here in "The Territory" this past weekend.... lots of photo ops, but not much light as most of the action occured after sunset. The first two were captured with the D750 and the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f4 VR while sitting in the stands.. the little guy turned was sitting about two rows down and turned quickly... the dragonfly landed on a lady's hat sitting down one row....

This is a blue winged Kookaburra, a cousin of the "laughing Kookaburra" and a member of the Kingfisher family...

Here are some fruit bats that are seen everywhere up here in the Northern Territory - most have wing spans of at least three feet...

That's it for now!

Cheers and good light,
David
