I concur. That's amazingly dimensional. Did you do some post voodo with fill light/black point or high lights and shadows? Or dare I say is that fairly straight? School me please.

Hi Jimmy - it was pretty straight. I chose a shaded area that allowed me enough light on the face without causing the sitter to squint at all.
Shot raw, the PP was in Lightroom 2 Beta - convert to mono, added some clarity, upped the contrast a little and then some post-crop vignette. That's it - the rest was done by the D3 and 85/1.4 magic.

Interesting, I'll have to invest in a shady tree as well...
Darn it that 85 on FX is magic. I'm really liking Lightroom Beta 2 how about you? I always forget they moved the crop tool though.
