And this my friends is why you buy local and not cheap.
I don't work at a camera shop, thank god because you people would drive me crazy
However, I do appreciate the service that my shop back home gives.
Shout out to Seawood Photo in San Anselmo, CA! I am still the first on your list right?

I have to agree this time. I deal with Epperson photo here in Oklahoma City. They have excellent customer service, I just can't see paying 25% more for that service. Now I was very supprised to see they are selling the Mark III for $4499.00 I am on the list, but Im 19th so I doubt I will have one in my hands anytime soon.
They're here; I just picked mine up from Norman Camera. They had a bunch of others waiting to be shipped out, so I don't know if any of the few they got in are available, but I physically picked mine up so I know they are actually here.

My local dealer called this am.. mine is due in tomorrow!!!! Local shop, when I ordered mine, no one else had ordered, which was about a month ago! So I was #1. Going out of town tomorrow though, so will have to have a friend pick mine up for me.. won't get to use it until Monday, when I get back.
Any volunteers??
Battery is charging as we speak. I thought about taking the AC adapter and a 75' extension cord out in the back yard to get some shots of the peonies that just opened in one of the beds today, but I thought that might be taking it too far.
Nah... there's no such thing as too far with new cameras!
I'm still waiting to see if Calumet get's in a shipment today. I checked my local shops and nada. Darn me for living in Iowa... I need the camera to get out there and photograph some corn

Genxtek make sure you let us know if Calumet gets them. I have pre ordered from them as well.
Out of curiosity... Those who ordered from Calumet, do you know where you are on the list and if so, when did you order? I ordered 3/19 and have never been able to get a straight answer on where I am on their list.

You can't get a straight answer because their larger accounts always come first, regardless of when they order.

I ordered mine from calumet on 2/27 and have been told begining of June. They will not tell me where I am on the list. If there is one.
Damn this thing is fast. The shutter sounds so precise. It seems much faster than a 1DsII, and makes a 5D feel like a tortoise back to back.
A couple of things that have been brought up in this thread I'll address:
1) The shutter does nothing during the normal on/off cleaning cycle. I guess Canon assumes if you are going to do it manually you might go longer intervals between cleanings and so it needs it in manual cleaning.
2) It does feel lighter than the difference on paper would seem to indicate. It still isn't a lightweight, but it is noticeable to me.
I'll try to write up some other points and post it in the user thread along with some links to RAW files later tonight; too many meetings this afternoon.
