Be sure to check www.resellerratings.com on fotoconnection.com before even considering ordering from them. Doubt seriously if they have a MkII and there are many horror stories from customers who have bought from them. Not sure about Pictureline or Mel Pierce Camera.
Need a Mark III fast.I had very good luck with Berger Bros. I order mine 2 1/2 weeks ago when I got tired of the B&H wait. I was working with Brad and he asked me when I needed it. I told him by the end of June. I received mine today. I know they now have a few on a waiting list but I think they do all they can to get people cameras.. Ask for Brad, tell him Sandy Corless sent you and call 613-264-4160. I find out about them from a great workshop leader I had a few years back.
Tink, one thing about being middle age is that 4 days feels like 4 minutes! Ha!
After months of waiting this will be a peice of Cake and the guys at Durys are a great bunch to do business with !

Got my Mk-III yesterday charged up the battery, set up the menus got up today cloudy looks like rain! been like this since Sunday!!! now they just said the weather will be the same tomorrow
I know fred! It always seems to rain the day new equipment arrives, but hey the MKIII is weather proof! Get out there and shoot boy! (Take an umbrella though, cause who really wants to get something that expensive wet!)
(why is everyone charging the batteries? aren't they ready to go? Or is this a battery conditioning thing?)

I won't care if it snows here in the middle of summer if I finally receive my mkIII on that day. It is such a long time since I ordered mine on 27.02.2007 from the other side of the world.

Got myself into the list of only 40 that will be delivered into Mexico on June 20th. Price? Amazingly it will be the same price as in the US $5,000 including a 15% VAT, which puts the sticker price at $4,350.

I'll let you know if this materializes or not.

I just found one while travelling in bankok. I paid about $4700 but I get 7% (vat) refunded when I fly out of Thailand. that's cheaper than BH! I was blown away. I checked many many stores in bangkok yesterday and everyone said they didnt have any and that it would be at least two weeks (some wouldn't even put me on a list to buy....when I'm trying to give them almost $5000 they won't write my name down!). Then I went to AV camera (recommended on another forum (potn) and the owner was already on the phone with Canon Thailand and overheard my desire for the 1d3 and I heard him repeat it into the phone. Canon rep dropped one off 2 hrs later. was pretty darn nice after i had melted with dissapointment that I wouldn't be able to take the 1d3 to vietnam/laos where I go in a week. Even thought about flying to hong kong for the weekend (and that minor shopping trip v )
so if you're ever in bangkok, be sure to stop at AV camera (tons of hassy, L's, P-5000's, etc....all high quality stuff for a serious shooter)
Everybody is so excited to get their cameras.
I put down a deposit with my local shop, the day the MKIII was announced. Then I moved to Paris. Been shooting like crazy with my well-worn 20D. All the while thinking of how much cleaner the >800 ISO is gonna be.
Well my wife was back home in NorCal all week, camera was supposed to arrive this week. Now she is on her way back to Paris and my camera will arrive at the shop on Monday.
I know that I can FedEx it, but the customs will hit me hard, not to mention the FedEx charge.
Anyone wanna pick up my camera and fly it to Paris for me

You, and others on the edge about high-ISO rendering from the new 1D3, need to take a fresh Flash Card to a dealer who has one of these cameras available. Put your card into a demo body/lens combo and crank the ISO up to anything between 2000 and 6400.
Click off some shots in any available-darkness area around the store. Then take the CF card home to your computer and pull said takes into your favorite management app and deal with it.
Then maybe you will see why Canon has even seen fit to offer an optional sensitivity extension to ISO 6400!!
