in the issue of 'Rιponses Photo' where there was a first hands-on, there was indeed mentioned that some noise was visible as from 400 iso. But it also stated that the hands on was done with a pre-production model on which the noise handling was not yet optimal.
To which French magazine are you referring?

I was talking about the pro and cons of the Mark3, listed in the Mark3 article.

one of the cons was that the Image quality is moyenne", meaning medium!
The author says he had a demo Mark3!!!
so thats why it wasn't good enough, I guess
I have worked for a week with the Mk III and as far as I could tell, the image quality was better dan the 20D and de Mk II N. More detail, less noise (though I didn't compare ISO 400 yet) and better dynamic range.

Yah susi I got that issue. That's about as complete an issue as I've ever seen Canon put out. I'm thinking they are betting a lot of marbles on this one. What a glossy brochure some 65 pages as an advertising supplement. Gotta believe that cost a bunch huh?
I wonder how well the Data Security Kit OSK-E3 will work. Some sort of image file encryption to prevent unauthorized viewing or wireless theft. Neat if it can't be overcome. Don't know of anything that good though. Like most things it keeps 99% of the honest folk & 25% of the not-so-honest folk from doing wrong. A step in the right direction. Unique to only the 1DsMIII?

I know Rich, seems like the most feature rich camera ever made (so far) I was reading and thinking "Dang, I didn't know it could do all that!!!"
1. Is Lightroom able to process the RAW file?
2. With the MK3 and for fast action shots such as above, do u get the camera to select the focus point or do u pre-select the focus point?
well, I checked my UPS tracking and freaked when I saw this message:
[Delivery has been resheduled at the request of the receiver] !!
I called Durys and they called UPS and said this would be taken care of, then I also called UPS and I am supposed to hear back from my local carrier within an hour..........waiting...
Amazon must have gotten a few in. Mine is "out for delivery" right now. Their site still shows not available, but I got in early on the one day that they took orders back in April. Can't wait to open the box and give this thing a work out.
Sounds like some additional people here will be taking delivery today! That's great. Tell us what you think after you've had a chance to try it. Mine has been great but a few others seem to be struggling with focus issues. Don't know what to make of that yet. It also might be interesting to see if these latest deliveries have the same firmware. 1.0.8 is what everyone seems to have. Highly unlikely that will change at this point but something to note anyway.
